Polk Closes for Ongoing Blue Line RehabPolk will be closed between Paulina and Wood from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for the ongoing renovation of the Cermak (Douglas) branch of the Blue Line. #X21 Cermak Express buses will operate in both directions via Damen, Taylor, and Ashland then resume the regular route.
Northbound Sheffield Closes Saturday MorningA crane will block the northbound lanes of Sheffield just north of Fullerton from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Northbound #11 Lincoln buses will operate via Sheffield, Racine, back to Lincoln then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.
Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats FootballThe Northwestern Wildcats host Penn State at 11 a.m. on Saturday as part of the school's Family Weekend. Longer Purple Line trains will operate beginning at 9 a.m. and after the game as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.
Helicopter Lift Closes State Street Sunday MorningA helicopter lift at Carson Pirie Scott, 1 North State, will close State between Madison and Monroe from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. Sunday. Bus routes normally using State will be rerouted northbound via Michigan and southbound via Clark for the duration of the lift.
Convenient Service for Chicago Fire Soccer Game SundayThe Chicago Fire will host the D.C. United in game two of the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference Semi-Finals at Soldier Field at noon on Sunday.#12 Roosevelt buses serve Soldier Field and the Museum Campus from the West Side, making connections with Green, Orange and Red Line stations on Roosevelt, four blocks from the stadium. #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses serve the Museum Campus from the North Side, North Michigan Avenue and State Street downtown.
35th Street Closed for Sewer Construction until November 1935th Street is closed between State and LaSalle for sewer work until Wednesday, November 19. Eastbound #35 35th buses will operate via LaSalle, 31st, State, back to 35th then resume the regular route. Westbound #35 buses will operate via State, Pershing, LaSalle, back to 35th then resume the regular route.
Ewing Closes for Railroad Crossing Repairs Beginning MondayReplacement of a railway grade crossing at 9420 South Ewing will close Ewing between 94th and 95th Streets beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, November 10 until 4 p.m. Friday, November 14. #26 South Shore Express buses will operate in both directions via 95th, South Chicago, and Commercial then resume the regular route.
#30 South Chicago buses will operate in both directions via 92nd, Commercial, South Chicago 95th, and Ewing then resume the regular route.
