Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 79th and 94th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday and northbound in the same location from 11 p.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sunday.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats Football SaturdayThe Northwestern Wildcats host Illinois at 11 a.m. Saturday. Longer Purple Line trains will begin operating at 9 a.m. and after the game as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.
Magnificent Mile Lights Festival Detours Bus RoutesTen CTA bus routes will be detoured off North Michigan Avenue Saturday, November 20 for the annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will proceed south on Michigan from Oak to Wacker. Michigan will close in both directions between Oak and Wacker at 5 p.m. and is expected to reopen at approximately 8 p.m. The bus routes affected by the parade are the #3 King Drive, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #66 Chicago, #124 Navy Pier, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express, #151 Sheridan and #173 University of Chicago/Lakeview Express. Affected buses will be detoured to streets adjacent to the parade route.
Additional Service Provided for Bears Game on SundayAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes for the Bears game against the Indianapolis Colts at noon on Sunday. Additional service will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.
CTA's #128 Soldier Field Express route also will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field beginning at 10:25 a.m. and continuing until 1 ? hours after the game ends.
