Lake Street Closed for Work on BridgeLake is closed between Wacker and Canal from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. beginning today until Thursday, November 20 for work on the Lake Street bridge over the Chicago River. Some southbound trips on the #125 Water Tower Express bus routes will be detoured via Canal, Washington, Wacker, back to Franklin then resume the regular route.
Ontario/Fairbanks Bus Terminal Closes for 18 Months Beginning FridayThe bus terminal at Ontario and Fairbanks will close for 18 months starting Friday to accommodate the construction of a new parking structure. During the project #3 King Drive and #X3 King Drive Express buses will begin and end their trips eastbound on Ohio, along the south curb lane just west of McClurg Court. Customers will not be able to use the Fairbanks terminal and should now board #3 and #X3 buses at the Ohio/McClurg location. Buses will follow their normal routing to Fairbanks and Chicago, proceed south on Fairbanks to Ohio, east on Ohio to McClurg, north on McClurg to Ontario, west on Ontario to Fairbanks then resume the regular route. There will be no stops added along McClurg or Ontario.
Longer Purple Line Trains Provided for Northwestern Wildcats FootballThe Northwestern Wildcats host Michigan at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Longer Purple Line trains will operate beginning at 12:30 p.m. and after the game as crowds warrant. Ryan Field is just west of the Purple Line's Central station in Evanston.
Jackson and Van Buren Close Beginning MondayJackson and Van Buren will be closed between Paulina and Wood from Monday, November 17 until Saturday, November 22 for the reconstruction of the Paulina Connector, part of the ongoing renovation of the Cermak (Douglas) branch of the Blue Line. Eastbound #126 Jackson buses will operate via Damen, Harrison, Ashland, back to Jackson then resume the regular route. Westbound #126 buses will operate via Van Buren, Ashland, Harrison, Damen, back to Jackson then resume the regular route.
51st Street Closes for Metra Construction Beginning Monday51st Street will be closed between Federal and Wentworth from 7 a.m. Monday until 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 25 for the replacement of a Metra viaduct in that location. Westbound #15 Jeffery Local buses will operate via 51st, State, 47thto the Red Line station. Eastbound #15 buses will leave the station and operate via 47th, Wells, 55th, Wentworth, to 51st then resume the regular route.
