EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF MAY 7 - 9

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Friday Through Next Thursday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 33rd and 45th Streets from 10 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday and again from 10 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.

Single track service also will be in effect southbound between 33rd and 45th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, May 10 through Thursday night, May 13.

Customers should allow additional travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line construction, by-pass tracks are in place between 87th and 84th Streets until next weekend.

By-pass tracks also are in place between 67th and 71st Streets until early June.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal station locations.

59th Street Closed for Metra Viaduct Construction59th Street is closed between State and LaSalle from now until Saturday for construction on the Metra Rock Island viaduct. Eastbound #59 59th/61st buses will operate via Wentworth, 55th Street Red Line station, State, back to 59th then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via State, 55th Street Red Line station, Wells, back to 59th then resume the regular route.

Ashland and Taylor Closed for Sewer Repairs until SaturdayThe center lane on southbound Ashland and the eastbound lanes of Taylor are closed at Ashland from now until 3 p.m. Saturday. Eastbound #37 Sedgwick/ Ogden buses will operate via Taylor, Ashland, Roosevelt, Loomis back to Taylor then resume the regular route. Westbound service is not affected.

Helicopter Lift Closes Dearborn Friday MorningA helicopter lift at 1130 North Dearborn will close Dearborn and Clark between Division and Maple; and Elm between LaSalle and State from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Friday, May 7. Southbound #22 Clark buses will operate via Division, LaSalle, Maple, back to Clark then resume the regular route.

#70 Division buses will operate in both directions via Dearborn, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Oak, State, back to Division then resume the regular route.

Bus Terminal at Peggy Notebaert Museum Closes for Butterfly Ball FridayThe east bus terminal at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park will be closed from noon until 7:30 p.m. Friday for the annual Butterfly Ball. #77 Belmont buses that ordinarily use the terminal will operate via Cannon, Fullerton, Stockton, Cannon, back to Lake Shore Drive West then resume the regular route. Stops near the museum may be made at customer request.

Race Closes Downtown Streets and May Cause Service Delays SundayThe Y-Me Race Against Breast Cancer will close several downtown streets on Sunday from 4:30 a.m. until noon. The closures are: Columbus between Congress and Roosevelt; Balbo from Lake Shore Drive to Michigan; Roosevelt from Michigan to Lake Shore Drive; northbound Michigan between Roosevelt and Balbo; and Jackson from Michigan to Lake Shore Drive.

Buses on the #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #12 Roosevelt, #14 Jeffery Express, #28 Stony Island, #60 Blue Island/26th, #126 Jackson, #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express routes may experience intermittent service delays and may be rerouted to adjacent streets during the race.

Bus Terminal Serving Marist High School Closes for Construction Beginning MondayThe bus terminal serving Marist High School at 115th/Keeler will be closed for construction from 5 a.m. Monday until Sunday, September 12. #52A South Kedzie and #53A South Pulaski buses will use the terminal at 115th/Springfield for the duration of the project.

Taylor Closes for Sewer Work on MondayTaylor will be closed eastbound between Lytle and Throop from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday for sewer work. Eastbound #37 Sedgwick/Ogden buses will operate via Taylor, Loomis, Roosevelt, Racine, back to Taylor then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.

Division Bridge over the Chicago River Closes for Repairs MidweekThe Division Street bridge over the Chicago River North Branch at 829 West Division will be closed daily from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 through Thursday, May 13. #70 Division buses will operate in both directions via Elston, Milwaukee, Chicago, Halsted, back to Division then resume the regular route.
