Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Friday Through Next Thursday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 95th and 79th Streets from 10 p.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Saturday and northbound from 10 p.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sunday.
Single track service also will be in effect northbound between 63rd Street and Garfield from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, May 17 through Thursday night, May 20.
Customers should allow additional travel time.
Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line construction, by-pass tracks that have been in place between 87th and 84th Streets will be discontinued this weekend, allowing trains to return to the main tracks.
By-pass tracks are in place between 69th and 71st Streets until early June.
Customers will continue to board trains at their normal station locations.
115th Street Closed for Water Main Repairs until Next Friday115th Street is closed between Laflin and Ashland from now until 3 p.m. Friday, May 21. Eastbound #111 Pullman/111th/115th will operate via Ashland, Hamlet, 111th, Halsted, back to 115th then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Halsted, 111th, Marshfield, back to 115th then resume the regular route.
Wells Closed for Construction until JulyWells is closed between 57th and 58th Streets for construction from now until Monday, July 12. Southbound #24 Wentworth buses will operate via Garfield, Princeton, 58th, back to Wells then resume the regular route. Westbound #59 59th/61st will operate via Garfield, Princeton, 58th, Wells, back to 59th then resume the regular route.
Helicopter Lift Closes Clark and LaSalle SaturdayA helicopter lift at 1455 North Clark will close Clark and LaSalle Streets between Schiller and North from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday. #22 Clark and #36 Broadway buses will operate in both directions via North, Wells, Division, back to Clark then resume the regular route.
State Street Closes for Filming Project SundayState Street will be closed between Adams and Van Buren; and Adams will be closed between State and Wabash from 4 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday. #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #29 State, #36 Broadway, #62 Archer, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses will be rerouted to adjacent streets for the duration of the filming.
Four Dan Ryan Ramps Close for Construction Beginning Sunday NightThe northbound exit and southbound entrance ramps at 79th Street, and the northbound entrance and southbound exit ramps at 83rd Street on the Dan Ryan will be closed temporarily for construction from 9 p.m. Sunday until mid-September. #29 State buses that have been rerouted to the Dan Ryan since March will now operate southbound via Lafayette, 79th, Vincennes, 83rd, back to Lafayette and resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via State, 83rd, Vincennes, 79th, back to State then resume the regular route. Note: These closures are not related to CTA's ongoing rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line.
Division Bridge over the Chicago River Closes for Repairs Beginning MondayThe Division Street bridge over the Chicago River North Branch will be closed daily from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, May 17 through Thursday, May 20. #70 Division buses will operate in both directions via Elston, Milwaukee, Chicago, Halsted, back to Division then resume the regular route.
Cortland Bridge over the Chicago River Closes for Cleaning TuesdayThe Cortland Street bridge over the Chicago River North Branch will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. #73 Armitage buses will operate in both directions via Elston, Ashland, Webster, Clybourn, back to Racine then resume the regular route.
111th Street Closes for One Week Beginning Wednesday111th Street will be closed between Ashland and Marshfield while work is performed at a Metra crossing beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday and lasting until 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 26. Westbound #111 Pullman/111th/115th and #112 Vincennes/111th buses will operate via 111th, Marshfield, 112th, Monterey, back to 111th then resume the regular route. Eastbound buses will operate via Monterey, 112th, Hamlet, back to 111th then resume the regular route.
