Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of May 13

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to track maintenance on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 79th and 94th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday, May 13 until 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14 and again in the same location northbound from 8 p.m. Saturday, May 14 until noon Sunday, May 15.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekSingle track service will be in effect southbound between 63rd and 69th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, May 16. Single track service also will be in effect during those same hours northbound between 55th and 45th Streets Tuesday night, May 17 and southbound in the same location Wednesday night, May 18 and Thursday night, May 19.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Forest Park Branch of the Blue Line Beginning FridayDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect westbound between Kedzie and Pulaski from 9 p.m. Friday, May 13 until 6 a.m. Saturday, May 14. Single track service also will be in effect eastbound between Harlem and Lombard from 9 p.m. Sunday, May 15 until 4:30 a.m. Monday, May 16 and again during those same hours eastbound between Lathrop and Lombard Monday, May 16 until Tuesday, May 17.

Single Track in Effect on Purple Line SaturdayDue to track maintenance on the Purple Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between Milburn and Linden from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday, May 14.

Loop Tour Train Operates on Saturdays through September 24The Loop Tour Train travels around the historic 1897 Loop 'L' on Saturdays through September 24.

Sponsored by the Chicago Office of Tourism, Loop Tour Train tickets are free, but customers must pick up their tickets on the day of the tour from the Chicago Office of Tourism Visitor Information Center located on the first floor of the Chicago Cultural Center at 77 East Randolph. Tickets are available beginning at 10 a.m.

Loop Tour Trains begin their trips southbound from the Randolph/Wabash 'L' station at 11 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 12:20 p.m. and 1 p.m. Customers should be on the platform approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time of their tours. Customers needing elevator access can make the appropriate arrangements when they pick up their tickets at the Visitor Information Center. Single Track in Effect on Brown Line SundayDue to track maintenance on the Brown Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between Sedgwick and Chicago from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, May 15.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Three Northbound Red Line Platforms Beginning SundayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night from Sunday, May 15 through Thursday, May 19. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville stations. During these hours, customers wishing to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Loyola station and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations.

Montrose Avenue Closes for Sewer Work Beginning MondayMontrose Avenue will be closed westbound only between Broadway and Clark from 9 a.m. Monday, May 16 until 5 p.m. Thursday, May 19. Westbound #78 Montrose buses will operate via Wilson, Clark, back to Montrose, then resume the regular route. Eastbound service will not be affected.

Washington Bridge over the Chicago River Closed for RepairsThe Washington bridge over the Chicago River is closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. weekdays until Tuesday, May 17. The closures are affecting eastbound buses on the #14 Jeffery Express, #20 Madison, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island, #120 North Western/Wacker Express, #122 Illinois Center/North Western Express, #124 Navy Pier, #127 NW/Madison and #157 Streeterville routes.

63rd Street Closed for CSX Railroad Viaduct Repairs 63rd Street is closed westbound only between Damen and Western from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays until Friday, June 24. Westbound #63 63rd buses are operating via 63rd, Damen, 59th, Western, back to 63rd, then resuming the regular route. Eastbound service is not affected.

Jeffery Boulevard Closed for Sewer Construction Jeffery Boulevard is closed between 87th and 93rd Streets through July 15. #14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses are operating in both directions via Jeffery, 93rd, Stony Island, 87th, back to Jeffery, then resuming the regular route.

Lake Red Line Subway Entrance Temporarily Closed for RenovationsThe Lake Street station entrance to the Red Line is temporarily closed and is only available as an exit during all hours until late summer. Customers are encouraged to use the adjacent Red Line subway station entrance at Washington.

Trains continue to stop at the Lake Street subway station during all hours.Customers wishing to exit at the north end of the Lake station should walk north and use the newly renovated stairway. They also may enter and exit at the Randolph/Washington exit at the south end of the station.
