Red Line Single Track in Effect Friday Night Through Next Thursday Night Due to construction and maintenance, single track service will be in effect southbound on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line between 79th and 69th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday, and again from 8 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.
Single track service will be in effect northbound between 94th and 87th Streets from 10 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday.
Single track service also will be in effect northbound between 87th and 79th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights next week.
Customers should allow additional travel time while the work is being performed.
Museum of Science and Industry Extends Hours During Spring BreakThe Museum of Science and Industry has extended its hours to 5:30 p.m. (instead of 4 p.m.) through Friday, April 16, to accommodate visitors who are on spring break. #10 Museum of Science & Industry buses will operate every 30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays through the weekend of April 10 ? 11 until 5:25 p.m. from Chestnut/Lake Shore Drive to the museum and until 6:10 p.m. from the museum to Chestnut/Lake Shore Drive.
Helicopter Lift Closes Roosevelt and Clark Sunday MorningRoosevelt will be closed between Clark and Canal, and Clark will be closed between Polk and Roosevelt Sunday, March 28 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. while a helicopter lifts equipment to the roof of a new Target store at Clark/Roosevelt. Eastbound #12 Roosevelt buses will operate via Jefferson, Harrison, State, back to Roosevelt, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via State, Harrison, Clinton, back to Roosevelt then resume the regular route.
Helicopter Lift Closes Michigan and Walton Sunday MorningMichigan will be closed between Delaware and Oak, and Walton will be closed between Michigan and Mies Van Der Rohe Sunday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. while a helicopter lifts the restored Lindbergh Beacon to the top of the Palmolive Building, 919 North Michigan. #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, Oak, State, Chicago, back to Michigan then resume the regular route.

Shamrock Shuffle Race May Cause Intermittent Service Delays Sunday MorningThe Shamrock Shuffle 8-K Race may cause intermittent service delays on 16 bus routes Sunday morning. Participants will assemble at Columbus/Congress at 6 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m. The race course is north on Columbus to Monroe, west to Aberdeen, south to Adams west to Laflin, south to Jackson, east to Columbus and south to the finish line at Congress. Buses on the #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #8 Halsted, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #22 Clark, #28 Stony Island Express, #29 State, #36 Broadway, #60 Blue Island/26th, #62 Archer, #126 Jackson, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and #151 Sheridan routes may be affected by the race.
Halsted Closes for Hellenic Heritage Parade Sunday AfternoonHalsted will be closed between Randolph and Van Buren Sunday for the Hellenic Heritage Parade from 2:30 until 4 p.m. Northbound #8 Halsted buses will operate via Halsted, Harrison, Jefferson, Lake, back to Halsted then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Lake, Desplaines, Harrison, back to Halsted then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #20 Madison buses will operate via Madison, Morgan, Lake, Desplaines to Washington then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Madison, Jefferson, Lake, Morgan, back to Madison then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #126 Jackson buses will operate via Jackson, Morgan, Harrison, Jefferson, back to Jackson then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Van Buren, Desplaines, Harrison, Morgan, back to Van Buren then resume the regular route.
47th Street Closes for Pavement Work Beginning Monday47th Street will be closed between LaSalle and Federal for pavement restoration at the Metra Rock Island viaduct beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2. Eastbound #43 43rd buses will operate via Wentworth, 47th, LaSalle, back to 43rd, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via State, 51st, Wentworth, 47th, Princeton, back to 43rd, then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #47 47th buses will operate via LaSalle, 43rd, State, back to 47th, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via State, 51st, Wentworth, back to 47th, then resume the regular route.
State and Lafayette Close for Construction Work Beginning MondayState and Lafayette Streets will be closed between 80th and 83rd Streets for construction beginning Monday and expected to continue until early June. Northbound #29 State buses will operate via State to the 83rd Street entrance ramp to the Dan Ryan, and will exit the Dan Ryan at 79th Street. Southbound buses will operate via Lafayette to the 79th Street entrance ramp and exit at 83rd Street. Customers will need to board buses at either 83rd or 79th depending on their direction of travel.
Bridge Testing for Upcoming Boating Season ContinuesAll affected bus routes will be detoured to adjacent streets for the duration of the closures.
The Grand Avenue bridge over the Chicago River will be tested from 9:30 a.m. until noon Thursday, April 1. This closure will affect buses on the #65 Grand route.
