CTA Provides Convenient Service to Flower and Garden Show CTA buses provide convenient service to Navy Pier for the annual Chicago Flower and Garden Show in Festival Hall through Sunday, March 21. Show hours are from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekdays and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Buses on the #29 State, #65 Grand, and #66 Chicago routes serve Navy Pier daily. New this year is the addition of the #2 Hyde Park Express that serves Navy Pier during weekday morning and afternoon rush periods, and the #124 Navy Pier which now operates to the pier seven days a week.
Red Line Single Track in Effect Friday and Saturday Night Due to construction and maintenance, single track service will be in effect southbound on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line between 63rd and 69th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday, and again between 69th and 79th Streets from 8 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday. Customers should allow 20 minutes in additional travel time while the work is being performed.
Crane Lift Closes Damen at O'Hare Blue Line Elevated StructureDamen will be closed at the O'Hare Blue Line 'L' structure between Pierce and North from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday while a crane performs maintenance work on the station platform. Northbound #50 Damen buses will operate via Division, Western, North, back to Damen then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Milwaukee, Ashland, Division, back to Damen then resume the regular route. Blue Line service will not be affected.
Michigan Avenue Closes for Helicopter Lift Sunday MorningMichigan Avenue will be closed between Pearson and Rush, and Chicago Avenue will be closed between Mies van der Rohe Way and Rush from7 a.m. until 9 a.m. Sunday for a helicopter lift at 777 North Michigan. Buses on the #3 King Drive, #66 Chicago, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #146 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan routes will be rerouted to adjacent streets during the lift.
Woodlawn Closes for Sewer Construction Beginning MondayWoodlawn will be closed at 58th Street from 6 a.m. Monday until 5 p.m. Sunday, March 28 for sewer work at that location. Northbound #172 University of Chicago/Kenwood buses will operate via Woodlawn, 59th, Ellis, 57th, back to Woodlawn, then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.
Bridge Testing for Upcoming Boating Season ContinuesAll affected bus routes will be detoured to adjacent streets for the duration of the closures.
The Randolph bridge over the Chicago River will be tested Friday, March 19 from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Some southbound morning rush trips on the #125 Water Tower Express route may be affected. Northbound service will not be affected.
The Jackson bridge also will be tested Friday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The closure will affect the #1 Indiana/Hyde Park, #7 Harrison, #28 Stony Island Express, #60 Blue Island/26th, #126 Jackson, #151 Sheridan and #156 LaSalle bus routes.
The Lake Street bridge will be tested Monday, March 22 from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. This closure may affect some northbound morning rush period trips on the #37 Sedgwick/Ogden and #125 Water Tower Express routes. Green Line rail service will not be affected.
The LaSalle bridge will be tested Tuesday, March 23 from 9:30 a.m. until noon. This closure will affect the #156 LaSalle route and may affect some morning rush period trips on the #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express and #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express routes.
The Clark Street bridge will be tested Wednesday, March 24 from 9:30 a.m. until noon. This closure will affect the southbound #22 Clark route.
The Dearborn bridge will be tested Thursday, March 25 from 9:30 a.m. until noon. This closure will affect the northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer routes.
