Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Saturday Through Next Thursday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 94th and 87th Streets from 11 p.m. Saturday until noon on Sunday.
Single track service also will be in effect southbound between 22nd and 33rd Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, June 7 through Thursday night, June 10.
Customers should allow additional travel time.
Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line construction, CTA trains are using by-pass tracks between 43rd and 45th Streets until mid-July.
By-pass tracks also are in place between 69th and 71st Streets until next weekend.
Customers will continue to board trains at their normal station locations.
Leland Closes for May Festival in Lincoln Square Beginning ThursdayLeland will be closed between Lincoln and Western from 9:30 a.m. today until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 6 for the annual May Festival celebration. #11 Lincoln buses will operate in both directions via Western, Wilson and back to Lincoln then resume the regular route.
#49B North Western buses will operate in both directions via Western, Montrose, Lincoln, Wilson back to Western then resume the regular route.
Longer Trains to Serve Gospel Music Festival this WeekendLonger trains will operate on the CTA's Green, Orange and Brown Lines for the Chicago Gospel Music Festival in Grant Park this weekend. Performances will take place at the Petrillo Music Shell at Jackson/Columbus. Friday's performances will take place from 4:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Performances on Saturday and Sunday will take place from noon until 9:30 p.m.
Printer's Row Book Fair Closes Streets Beginning FridayThe annual Printer's Row Book Fair will close Dearborn between Polk and Congress; and Polk between Clark and State from noon Friday, until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 6.
Southbound #22 Clark buses will operate via Harrison, Wells, Congress, back to Dearborn where they will begin their northbound trips.
Southbound #36 Broadway buses will operate to Congress and Dearborn (instead of Polk and Clark) where they will begin their northbound trips.
Northbound #62 Archer buses will operate via State, Congress to Dearborn then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.
Parade Closes Devon SaturdayDevon will be closed between Western and Ridge from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the Sikh Day Parade. #155 Devon buses will operate in both directions via California, Lunt, Ridge, back to Devon then resume the regular route.
Additional Service Provided for Chicago Fire Soccer Game Saturday Additional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes for the Chicago Fire soccer game against the D.C. United at Soldier Field Saturday afternoon. The game begins at 3 p.m. The additional bus service will begin at 1:30 p.m. and continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.
Additional Service Provided for Fireworks at Navy Pier Wednesday and Saturday NightsAdditional service will be provided on the #29 State, #66 Chicago and #124 Navy Pier bus routes for fireworks displays that will take place at Navy Pier at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday nights and at 10:15 p.m. Saturday nights now through the Labor Day Weekend. The last #29 bus leaves the pier at 12:25 a.m. and the last #66 bus leaves at 12:20 a.m. every night year round. The last #124 bus leaves the pier at midnight every night Memorial Day through Labor Day (10:30 p.m. the remainder of the year).
Oak Park Event Closes Streets on SundayLake Street will be closed between Forest Avenue and Harlem from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday. Some early morning westbound #N20 Madison Night buses will operate via Forest, Ontario, Harlem, back to Lake then resume the regular route. Eastbound service will not be affected.
Run Closes Streets in the Vicinity of Lincoln Park Zoo Sunday MorningThe United Run for the Zoo will close several streets near Lincoln Park Zoo on Sunday from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Stockton will be closed from LaSalle to Diversey. Lake Shore Drive West will be closed from Diversey to Surf. Cannon will be closed from Diversey to Fullerton. #76 Diversey buses will operate in both directions via Sheridan, Belmont, Broadway, back to Diversey then resume the regular route.
#77 Belmont buses will operate in both directions via Lake Shore Drive West, Diversey, back to Sheridan then resume the regular route.
Northbound #151 Sheridan buses will operate via Inner Lake Shore Drive, Division, Clark, Lincoln Park West, Fullerton, Lakeview, back to Sheridan then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Sheridan, Lakeview, Fullerton, Lincoln Park West, Clark, LaSalle back to Inner Lake Shore Drive then resume the regular route.
Cermak Bridge over the Chicago River Closes Overnight SundayThe Cermak bridge over the Chicago River South Branch will be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday, June 7. #21 Cermak will operate in both directions via Lumber, Canal back to Cermak then resume the regular route.
47th Street Closes for Metra Viaduct Painting Beginning Monday47th Street will be closed between State and LaSalle daily from 6:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, June 12. Eastbound #47 47th buses will operate via LaSalle, 43rd, State, back to 47th, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via State, 51st, Wentworth, back to 47th then resume the regular route.
Halsted Bridge over the Chicago River Closes Overnight MondayThe Halsted Bridge over the Chicago River South Branch will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 8. #8 Halsted and #N62 Archer Night buses will operate in both directions via Archer, Loomis, Cermak, back to Halsted then resume the regular route.
