Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of June 24 - 26

Additional Service Provided for Taste of ChicagoVisitors to Taste of Chicago in Grant Park, Friday, June 24 through Monday, July 4 will find CTA service the most effective way to travel. Longer trains will operate into the Loop until late every night. Additional buses will be available toward the close of each evening's activities to carry customers home.

More extensive service will be available Sunday evening, July 3 and Monday evening, July 4 for spectators going to Navy Pier or Grant Park to watch the fireworks displays. Customers attending Taste and the fireworks are encouraged to purchase farecards in advance to avoid waiting in lines to purchase cards for their trips in and out of the downtown area.

Additional Service Provided for Lakefront Pavilion Concerts This Weekend Additional service will be provided on the #130 Grant Park Treasures bus route for the first three concerts at the new Lakefront Pavilion at Northerly Island this weekend. The concerts, featuring Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25. Sunday's concert, featuring Brian McKnight and New Edition will begin at 7 p.m.

On Friday, #130 buses will operate after the concert to the LaSalle Street Station, Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center until one hour after the concert ends. There will be no service on the #130 route prior to the concert.

On Saturday, additional service will operate to the concert from the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and LaSalle Street Station until 7:05 p.m. and following the concert until one hour after the concert ends.

On Sunday, additional service will operate to the concert from Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and LaSalle Street Station until 6:35 p.m. and following the concert until one hour after the concert ends.

Evanston Streets Close for Fountain Square Arts Festival Beginning FridaySherman will be closed between Elgin and Davis, and Church will be closed between Benson and Orrington from 5 p.m. Friday, June 24 until 6 a.m. Monday, June 27 for the Fountain Square Arts Festival. Southbound #201 Central/ Ridge buses will operate via Sherman, Elgin, Chicago, Davis, back to Sherman, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Southbound #205 Chicago/Golf buses will operate via Church, Benson, Elgin, back to Chicago, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Gay and Lesbian Pride Fest and Parade Close Halsted Beginning SaturdayHalsted will be closed from Addison to Grace, including the CTA bus terminal at Halsted/Waveland from 3 a.m. Saturday, June 25 until 3 a.m. Sunday, June 26 for Pride Fest. Northbound #8 Halsted buses will operate via Addison, Broadway, Clarendon, Irving Park, Broadway to Waveland, where they will begin their southbound trips via Broadway, Addison, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.

On Sunday, Halsted will be closed between Fullerton and Broadway for the Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade. The closure will be in effect from 11 a.m. until approximately 7 p.m. Buses on the #8 Halsted, #22 Clark, #36 Broadway, #76 Diversey, #77 Belmont, #151 Sheridan and #152 Addison routes will be rerouted to adjacent streets for the duration of the parade.

During the parade buses will not operate on Broadway from Diversey to Irving Park; Halsted from Fullerton to Waveland; Diversey from Sheffield to Lake Shore Drive; Addison from Clark to Lake Shore Drive; Sheridan from Belmont to Fullerton; and Belmont from Sheffield to Lake Shore Drive.

The parade will disband in Lincoln Park on Cannon Drive between Diversey and Fullerton.

Additionally, on Sunday, extra service will be provided on the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express route from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. between Belmont and Montrose Beach for parade participants and spectators attending the Rocks Festival at the beach.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Three Northbound Red Line Platforms Beginning SundayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place from 10:30 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night from Sunday night, June 26 through Tuesday night, June 28. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville stations. During these hours, customers who wish to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Loyola station and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations.

During the same hours Wednesday night, June 29 and Thursday night, June 30, northbound trains will not stop at the Wilson, Lawrence and Argyle stations. Customers who wish to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Berwyn station and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekDue to track maintenance on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 69th and 63rd Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, June 27 and Tuesday night, June 28, and again during the same hours and in the same location southbound Wednesday night, June 29 and Thursday night, June 30.

26th Street Closes for Railroad Viaduct Repairs Beginning Tuesday26th Street will be closed between Kostner and Ogden from 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 28 until Tuesday, November 1. #60 Blue Island buses will operate in both directions via 26th, Kostner, Ogden, back to 26th, then resume the regular route.

Jeffery Boulevard Closed for Sewer Construction Jeffery Boulevard is closed between 87th and 93rd Streets through July 15. #14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses are operating in both directions via Jeffery, 93rd, Stony Island, 87th, back to Jeffery, then resuming the regular route.

Lake Red Line Subway Entrance Temporarily Closed for RenovationsThe Lake Street station entrance to the Red Line is temporarily closed and is only available as an exit until late summer. Customers are encouraged to use the adjacent Red Line subway station entrance at Washington.

Trains continue to stop at the Lake Street subway station during all hours.Customers who wish to exit at the north end of the Lake station should walk north and use the newly renovated stairway. They also may enter and exit at the Randolph/Washington exit at the south end of the station.
