EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 18 – 20

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Saturday through Next Thursday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 55th and 69th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Saturday and northbound in the same location from 8 p.m. Saturday until 4 p.m. Sunday.

Single track service also will be in effect southbound between 33rd and 35th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, June 21 through Thursday night, June 24.

Customers should allow additional travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the reconstruction of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, CTA trains will begin using by-pass tracks between 62nd and 58th Streets northbound on Friday and southbound on Saturday until late August.

CTA trains will continue to use by-pass tracks between 43rd and 45th Streets until mid-July.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal station locations.

#19 United Center Express Buses will Operate for Crusade at United Center Tonight and Friday The #19 United Center Express will operate to the United Center for the Benny Hinn Ministries Crusade at 7 p.m. tonight and Friday night, and at 10 a.m. Friday morning. Service for the two evening events will begin departing Michigan/ Chicago every 12 minutes from 2:30 p.m. until 7:06 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m.

Service for Friday's event will begin departing every 12 minutes from Michigan/Chicago from 8:05 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

After each event, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3.

Taylor Closed for Sewer Work until Next FridayTaylor is closed between Racine and Lytle now until 3 p.m. Friday, June 25. #37 Sedgwick/Ogden buses will operate in both directions via Taylor, Racine, Roosevelt, Loomis, back to Taylor, then resume the regular route.

Pulaski Closes for Railroad Work Beginning SaturdayPulaski will be closed at 33rd Street from 7 a.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, June 27. Southbound #53A South Pulaski buses will operate via 31st, Lawndale, 34th, back to Pulaski, then resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via 34th, Lawndale, 31st, to the terminal at Komensky where they will begin their return trips.

79th Street Closes for Juneteenth Parade Saturday79th Street will be closed from 1637 East 79th to Rainbow Beach Park from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday for the Juneteenth Celebration Parade. #79 79th buses will operate in both directions via 79th, Stony Island, 75th, to the terminal at South Shore Drive where they will begin their return trips.

Columbus Closes for Puerto Rican Day Parade SaturdayColumbus will be closed between Balbo and Monroe from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for the Puerto Rican Day Parade Saturday. The parade begins at noon and will proceed north on Columbus to Monroe. #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #28 Stony Island Express, #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses that ordinarily operate via Columbus and Balbo will be rerouted in both directions to operate via Roosevelt and Michigan during the parade.

Helicopter Lift Closes Three Downtown Streets Sunday MorningA helicopter lift at 21 South Clark will close Clark between Madison and Monroe, Dearborn between Madison and Adams, and Monroe between State and Clark from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday. Northbound #22 Clark, #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will operate via Jackson, State, Madison, back to Dearborn, then resume the regular route. Southbound #22 buses will operate via Madison, LaSalle, Monroe, back to Clark, then resume the regular route. Southbound service on the #36 and #62 routes will not be affected.

Weekday Service to Two Beaches Resumes on MondayWeekday bus service to two beaches will resume Monday and operate through late August. Buses on the #63 63rd route will operate to the 63rd Street Beach at Hayes and Lake Shore Drives from 9 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.

During the hours the beach is closed, #63 buses will only travel as far as 63rd/Stony Island.

#72 North buses will serve the North Avenue Beach at LaSalle Drive from 9 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. During the hours the beach is closed, #72 buses will only travel as far as North/Clark.

Cortland Street Bridge Over the Chicago River Closes TuesdayThe Cortland bridge over the Chicago River North Branch will be closed from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. #73 Armitage buses will operate via Elston, Ashland, Webster, Clybourn, back to Racine, then resume the regular route.

North Avenue Bridge Over the Chicago River Closes Next Thursday NightThe North Avenue bridge over the Chicago River North Branch will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, June 24 until 6 a.m. Friday, June 25. #72 North buses will operate in both directions via Clybourn, Cortland, Elston, back to North, then resume the regular route.
