Loop Track Renewal Work
Loop Track closures Friday night through Monday morning
From 10 p.m. Friday, June 15 through 4 a.m. Monday, June 18, the inner and outer elevated tracks along Wells and Van Buren streets will be closed. During this time, all trains serving the Loop elevated will operate along the Wabash and Lake sections of track.
Bus Reroutes
From 7 p.m. Friday, June 15 until 6 a.m. Monday, June 18, buses operating along the #11 Lincoln Sedgwick (southbound only), #14 Jeffery Express, #20 Madison, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island/26th and #124 Navy Pier buses will either be detoured or unable to serve selected bus stops due to the closure of Wells Street from Lake to Monroe, Monroe Street from Franklin to LaSalle, and Randolph Street from LaSalle to Franklin.
All rail lines and bus routes serving the Loop will resume normal operations at the start of service on Monday, June 18.
Blue Line – Events Affecting Service
Two-Phase Single Track Operation in Effect on O’Hare Branch Sunday Night
A two-phase single track operation will be in effect for all late night Blue Line trains serving the Cumberland and Rosemont stations beginning Sunday night, June 17, due to track maintenance work.
Phase I – at Rosemont
From 10 p.m. Sunday, June 17 until 12:01 a.m. the following morning, Blue Line customers at the Rosemont station traveling northbound (to O’Hare) must board and exit trains from the southbound (to Forest Park) side of the platform.
Phase II – at Cumberland and Rosemont
From 12:01 a.m. until 4 a.m. Monday, June 18, Blue Line customers at the Cumberland and Rosemont stations traveling northbound (to O’Hare) must board and exit trains from the southbound (to Forest Park) side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Late Night Boarding Changes at the Rosemont Station Next Week
All late night Blue Line trains will be routed to operate on the southbound (to Forest Park) tracks at the Rosemont station next week while crews continue track maintenance work.

Brown Line – Events Affecting Service
Daytime Closure of Northbound Main Entrance/Exit and Elevator at Armitage
The main entrance/exit and elevator to the northbound (to Kimball) platform of the Armitage Brown Line station will be temporarily closed from 10:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day beginning Monday, June 18 through Friday, June 22, while crews replace platform decking.
During these times, customers will be directed to access the northbound (to Kimball) platform using the auxiliary entrance located on the south side of Armitage Avenue.
Access for Customers with Disabilities
Customers at the Armitage station traveling northbound (to Kimball) who require an elevator to access Brown Line trains will need to take a southbound (to the Loop) train to Sedgwick and transfer to a northbound (to Kimball) train.
Northbound (to Kimball) customers traveling to the Armitage station who require access to an elevator will need to continue to Fullerton and transfer to a southbound (to the Loop) train.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
Red Line – Events Affecting Service
Northbound Trains to Bypass Loyola through Jarvis This Weekend
Due to crews performing track and viaduct repairs as part of the Red North Station Interim Improvement project, northbound (to Howard) Red Line trains will be unable to stop at the Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Loyola, Morse or Jarvis stations this weekend beginning 10 p.m. Friday, June 15 until 4 a.m. Monday, June 18.
To: Bryn Mawr or Thorndale
Northbound (to Howard) Red Line customers traveling to Bryn Mawr or Thorndale will need to exit at Berwyn and transfer to a shuttle train that will operate between Berwyn and Thorndale.
To: Loyola, Morse or Jarvis
Northbound (to Howard) customers who need to exit at the Loyola, Morse or Jarvis stations will need to travel Howard and transfer to a southbound (to 95th/Dan Ryan) train and exit at the appropriate station.
From: Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Loyola, Morse or Jarvis
Customers at the Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Loyola, Morse or Jarvis station who need to travel north will need to take a southbound (to 95th/Dan Ryan) train to Berwyn and transfer to a northbound (to Howard) train.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
Note: temporary street closures near the Morse station are currently in effect due to work associated with track and viaduct work. Buses operating along the #96 Lunt and #155 Devon routes are being detoured. See below for reroute details.
Late Night Boarding Changes at 87th Street Station Next Week

Service for Upcoming Events
Added Service for the Spring Awakening Music Festival at Soldier Field
The CTA will provide additional service for fans attending the Spring Awakenings Music Festival at Soldier Field this weekend. Hours for the music festival are from 1 p.m. until midnight each day on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17.
More frequent service will be provided along the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express route beginning at 9 p.m. for as long as crowds warrant.
On Saturday, longer trains will operate on the Red Line until 2 a.m. and on the Blue Line until 1 a.m. On Sunday, longer trains will operate on the Red Line from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. and on the Blue Line from noon until midnight.
Catch a Ride on the CTA to U.S. Cellular Field
CTA offers convenient and affordable bus and train service for baseball fans heading to the South Side for the Cubs vs. Sox series at U.S. Cellular Field. The games will be held on Monday, June 18, Tuesday, June 19 and Wednesday, June 20. Game time is 7:10 p.m. for all three games.
CTA staff will greet customers at the Red Line Sox-35th station prior to each game and distribute commemorative 2012 Crosstown Series posters to customers who use the Red Line to get to the game. Posters will be handed out starting approximately 90-minutes prior to the first pitch of each game while supplies last.
New/Updated Changes in Bus Service
NEW: Wacker Drive Stage IV Reroutes Begin on Saturday – 18 Routes Affected
Changes in service along 18 downtown CTA bus routes will go into effect at the start of service beginning Saturday, June 16, until further notice, due to the closure of Jackson and Adams streets at Wacker Drive as crews commence work associated with Stage IV of the Revive Wacker Drive, Part 2 project.
As a result of these street closures and the reopening of Monroe at Wacker, buses operating along the 18 affected routes will either be rerouted, returned to their original routing or only have minor changes in bus stop locations. Specific changes in service are outlined below. Customers are advised to allow extra travel time along these routes:

UPDATE: Sewer Repair Project Detours #43 43rd Buses
Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Friday, June 29, #43 43rd buses are being detoured due to the closure of 42nd Place between Ellis and Lake Park avenues for a sewer repair project.
Eastbound #43 buses are traveling over the regular route along 43rd Street to Greenwood then are operating via Greenwood, 44th Street, Lake Park to 43rd Street and resuming the regular route. Westbound #43 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
Red Line Viaduct Work Detours #96 Lunt and #155 Devon Buses Until Monday AM
Currently in effect until noon Monday, June 18, #96 Lunt and #155 Devon buses are being detoured due to the closure of Morse between Glenwood and Wayne and Lunt between Glenwood and Sheridan for Red Line viaduct work.
Eastbound #96 buses are traveling over the regular route to Morse/Ashland before turning to begin westbound service. From Morse/Ashland, westbound #96 buses are traveling via Ashland to Lunt and resume the regular route.
Eastbound #155 buses are operating over the regular route along Ashland past Morse to Greenleaf then traveling via Greenleaf, Sheridan to Morse before beginning westbound service. From Sheridan/Morse, westbound #155 are traveling over the regular route.
Reinstatement of Bus Stop at Archer/Cicero
Now in effect, southbound #62 Archer and #62H Archer/Harlem buses have resumed serving the far side stop at Archer/Cicero. This stop was temporarily removed from service due to nearby construction.
#56 Milwaukee Buses Detoured for the 6 Corners BBQ Fest
Currently in effect until approximately 3 a.m. Monday, June 18, #56 Milwaukee buses are being detoured due to the closure of Milwaukee between Irving Park and Cuyler for the annual 6 Corners BBQ Fest.
Southbound #56 buses are operating over the regular route along Milwaukee to Montrose then are traveling via Montrose, Cicero to Milwaukee and resuming the regular route. Northbound #56 buses will travel the reverse route.
Viaduct Construction Work Detours #71 71st/South Shore Buses
Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Friday, June 22, #71 71st/South Shore buses are being detoured due to the closure of 71st Street at South Chicago for viaduct construction work.
Southbound #71 buses are operating over the regular route along 71st Street to King Drive then are traveling via King Drive, 69th Street, South Chicago to 71st Street and resuming the regular route. Northbound #71 buses are traveling the reverse route.
Sewer Work at Avenue O/131st Street Detours #30 South Chicago Buses
Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, #30 South Chicago buses are being detoured due to the closure of Avenue O/131st Street for emergency sewer repair work.
Southbound #30 buses are traveling over the regular route along Avenue O to 131st Street then are operating via 131st Street, Avenue N, 133rd Street to Avenue O and resuming the regular route. Northbound #30 buses are traveling the reverse route.
#2 Hyde Park Express and #15 Jeffery Local Buses Temporarily Rerouted
Currently in effect until approximately 6 a.m. Monday, June 18, Hyde Park Boulevard between Drexel and Woodlawn is closed to all traffic. As a result, #2 Hyde Park Express buses operating northbound during the morning and southbound evening rush period and #15 Jeffery Local buses are being rerouted.
Northbound #2 Hyde Park Express – AM Service Only
During the morning rush period only, northbound #2 buses are traveling over the regular route along Bowen-Drexel past Hyde Park to 47th Street then are operating via 47th Street, Woodlawn to Hyde Park and resuming the regular route. Southbound #2 buses are not affected during the morning rush period and are traveling over the regular route.
Southbound #2 Hyde Park Express – PM Service Only
During the evening rush period only, southbound #2 buses are operating over the regular route along Hyde Park to Woodlawn then are traveling via Woodlawn, 47th Street to Drexel and then resuming the regular route south along Drexel. Northbound #2 buses are not affected during the evening rush period and are traveling over the regular route.
#15 Jeffery Local – All Hours of Operation
Northbound #15 buses are traveling over the regular route along Hyde Park to Woodlawn then are operating via Woodlawn, 47th Street, Drexel to Hyde Park and resuming the regular route. Southbound #15 buses are traveling the reverse route.
Two Bus Routes Detoured for the Custer Street Fair This Weekend
Currently in effect until approximately 6 a.m. Monday, June 18, #N201 Central/Sherman and #205 Chicago/Golf buses are being detoured due to the closure of Chicago Avenue between Main and Kedzie for the annual Custer Street Fair.
Northbound #N201 and #205 buses are traveling over their regular routes along Chicago to Kedzie then are operating via Kedzie, Hinman, Main to Chicago and resuming their regular routes. Southbound #N201 and #205 buses are traveling the reverse route.
Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade Reroutes Buses in the Grant Park Area
From 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #14 Jeffery Express buses will be detoured due to the closure of Columbus Drive between Monroe and Roosevelt, and Monroe Drive between Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Avenue for the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade. The parade will step-off at noon.
Southbound #6, #10 and #14 buses will operate over their regular routes to State/31st Street then will travel via 31st Street to Lake Shore Drive and then resume their regular routes south.
Northbound #6 buses will travel over the regular route along Lake Shore Drive to 31st Street then will operate via 31st Street, State, Jackson to Michigan and then resume the regular route.
Northbound #10 buses will travel over the regular route along Lake Shore Drive to 31st Street then will operate via 31st Street to State and then resume the regular route north of Balbo.
Northbound #14 buses will operate over the regular route along Lake Shore Drive to 31st Street then will travel via 31st Street, State to Madison and then resume the regular route.
Puerto Rican People’s Parade Detours Three Routes on Saturday
From 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, #49 Western, #52 Kedzie/California and #70 Division buses will be detoured due to the closure of Division Street between Sacramento and Oakley for the annual Puerto Rican People’s Parade. The parade will step-off at 2:30 p.m.
Northbound #49 buses will travel over the regular route along Western to Chicago then will operate via Chicago, Grand, Homan-Kimball, North Avenue to Western and then resume the regular route. Southbound #49 buses will travel the reverse route.
Northbound #52 buses will operate over the regular route along Kedzie past Chicago to Grand then will travel via Grand, Homan-Kimball, North Avenue to California and then resume the regular route. Southbound #52 buses will travel the reverse route.
Westbound #70 buses will travel over the regular route along Division to Damen then will operate via Damen, Chicago, Grand, Homan-Kimball to Division and then resume the regular route. Eastbound #70 buses will travel the reverse route.

Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, #N5 South Shore Night and #95E 93rd/95th buses are being detoured due to the closure of 92nd Street/Exchange for bridge repair work.
Eastbound #N5 and #95E buses are traveling over their regular routes along 93rd Street to Anthony then are operating via Anthony, Commercial, South Chicago to Exchange and then resuming their regular routes. Westbound #N5 and #95E buses are traveling the reverse route.
Temporary Reroute of Northbound #145 and #147 Buses at State/Van Buren
Currently in effect until approximately 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #147 Outer drive Express buses are being detoured due to construction on State Street at Van Buren.
Northbound #145 buses are traveling over the regular route along Congress to Dearborn then are operating via Dearborn, Jackson to State and then resuming the regular route. Southbound #145 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.

Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Friday, June 30, eastbound #43 43rd buses are being detoured due to the closure of 43rd Street between Ellis and Lake Park for sewer construction work.

Northbound #171 and #172 buses are operating over their regular routes along 60th Street past Dorchester to Stony Island then are traveling via Stony Island, 59th Street to Dorchester and resuming their regular routes. Southbound #171 and #172 buses are not affected and are traveling over their regular routes.
Eastbound #64 Foster/Canfield Buses Detoured for Viaduct Reconstruction Work
Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Friday, August 17, eastbound #64 Foster/Canfield buses are being detoured due to the closure of Higgins/Oriole for the reconstruction of the nearby viaduct over the Kennedy Expressway.
Eastbound #64 buses are traveling over the regular route along Canfield to Seminole then are operating via Seminole to Higgins and then resuming the regular route. Westbound #64 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
Sewer Reconstruction Work Detours Southbound #90N North Harlem Buses
Currently in effect until approximately 6 p.m. Friday, August 31, #90N North Harlem buses are being detoured due to the closure of Harlem between Greenleaf and Lunt for sewer reconstruction work.
Southbound #90N buses are traveling over the regular route along Touhy past Harlem to Milwaukee then operating via Milwaukee, Devon to Harlem and resuming the regular route. Northbound #90N buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
Bus Stop Changes Due to Kedzie Bridge Reconstruction Work
Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Monday, October 1, the following temporary changes have been made to bus stops served by #52A South Kedzie, #67 67th/69th/71st and #94 South California due to reconstruction work on the Kedzie Avenue Bridge between Marquette and 71st Street:

- Kedzie/Marquette: the northbound far side stop has been temporarily relocated to a westbound near side stop on Marquette at Kedzie.
- Kedzie/71st Street: the southbound far side stop has been temporarily removed from service.

- 71st Street/Kedzie: the westbound near side stop has been temporarily relocated to a far side stop.
#94 South California
- 71st Street/Kedzie: the westbound stop has been temporarily removed from service.
Temporary Relocation of #75 74th/75th Bus Stop
Currently in effect until approximately 4 p.m. Friday, October 12, the eastbound near side stop at 75th Street/Constance has been relocated to a far side stop due to nearby construction. This stop is served by #75 74th/75th buses.
Saturdays: Near North Farmer’s Market Detours #36 Broadway, #70 Division Buses
From 5 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday through October 27, #36 Broadway and #70 Division buses will be detoured due to the closure of Division Street between State and Clark for the Near North Farmer’s Market.
Southbound #36 buses will travel over the regular route along Clark past Division to Maple then will operate via Maple to State and then resume the regular route. Northbound #36 buses will operate over the regular route along State to Elm then will travel via Elm to Clark and then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #70 buses will travel over the regular route along Division to Clark and then will operate via Clark, Maple to Dearborn and then resume the regular route. Westbound #70 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
New Routing for #24 Wentworth Buses Traveling to 87th/Racine Only
Currently in effect until further notice, the routing of #24 Wentworth buses traveling to 87th Street/Racine only has been changed on a trial basis to serve the new businesses along Holland Road, in response to customer feedback.
As a result, southbound and northbound #24 buses (to 87th Street/Racine) are no longer operating on Vincennes between 83rd and 87th streets. Instead, southbound buses are traveling over the regular route along Vincennes to 83rd Street, then operating via 83rd Street, Princeton/Holland, 87th Street to Vincennes and continuing west on 87th Street over the regular route. Northbound buses will travel the reverse.
Weekdays Only: Temporary Change in Routing for Northbound #147 Buses
Currently in effect until further notice, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. on weekdays only northbound #147 Outer Drive Express buses will undergo a temporary change in routing due to heavy traffic congestion on Congress between Michigan and State.
From 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. on weekdays only, northbound #147 buses will travel over the regular route along Congress to Michigan then will operate via Michigan, Van Buren to State and then resume the regular route.
During all other hours of operation, northbound #147 buses will operate over the regular route via Congress to State.
Southbound #147 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
Temporary Relocation of #72 North Avenue Bus Stop
Currently in effect until approximately 6 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2013, the westbound near side stop at North Avenue/Washtenaw has been relocated to a far side stop. This stop is served by #72 North Avenue buses.
Temporary Relocation of Bus Stop at Lake Park/53rd Street
Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, the southbound near side stop at Lake Park/53rd Street has been temporarily relocated to a far side stop due to nearby construction work. This stop is served by #6 Jackson Park Express, #X28 Stony Island Express and #171 U of C/Hyde Park buses.
Relocation of #36 Broadway Bus Stop Due to Nearby Construction
Currently in effect until Friday, July 12, 2013, the southbound near side stop at Broadway/Elmdale served by #36 Broadway buses has been relocated to a far side stop due to nearby construction.
Removal of Bus Stop Change Affects Five Routes
Currently in effect until Thursday, August 1, 2013, the mid-block bus stop located at 5800 South Stony Island has been temporarily removed due to construction. This stop is served by the #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jackson Park Express, #15 Jeffery Local, #28 Stony Island and #X28 Stony Island Express buses.
