EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 13 – 15

Three Sheridan Road Bus Routes Resume Normal Service Friday MorningThe #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan bus routes will resume normal service at 6 a.m. Friday. The service had been rerouted since March due to renovation work of the Sheridan Road sewer line.

Temporary Bus Stop Locations Begin Friday at 95th Street Bus TerminalBus customers using the 95th Street bus terminal at the Red Line Station will experience a temporary change in their drop off and pick up points at the terminal, due to the start of reconstruction of the heavily traveled bus turnaround.

The temporary stops are all within two blocks of the terminal so customers will not have to travel far.

Temporary bus stops are expected to be in place until September when access to the bus turnaround will return to normal. Final reconstruction will not be complete until the end of the year.

Community Festival Closes Lincoln Avenue Saturday and SundayLincoln will be closed between Irving Park Road and Warner Avenue from 3 a.m. Saturday until 11 p.m. Sunday for the North Center Community Festival. #11 Lincoln buses will be rerouted in both directions via Montrose and Damen, to resume the regular route.

Andersonville Midsommarfest Closes Clark StreetClark will be closed between Foster and Balmoral for the Andersonville Midsommarfest from 6 a.m. Saturday until 11:59 p.m. Sunday. #22 Clark buses will operate in both directions via Bryn Mawr, Ashland, Foster and Clark, before resuming the regular route.

Lake Shore Drive Closed for ?Bike the Drive? SundayLake Shore Drive will be closed between Bryn Mawr and 57th Street from 5 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday. The 30-mile ride will originate in Grant Park at Columbus and Balbo and proceed east to Lake Shore Drive, south to the Museum of Science and Industry, back north on Lake Shore Drive up to Bryn Mawr Avenue back south on Lake Shore Drive to Balbo and west to the finish at Columbus.

#6 Jeffrey Express buses will operate in both directions via Lake Park and 47th, King Drive, Cermak, Michigan and Roosevelt, then resume the regular route.

#10 Museum of Science and Industry buses will operate in both directions via Michigan and Balbo, south on Michigan to Cermak, King Drive, 47th, Lake Park, 56th, Stony Island, 57th to Cornell and the west parking lot of the museum.

#145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #146 Marine/Michigan Express buses will operate in both directions via Lake Shore Drive and Melrose, inner Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan, Stockton, LaSalle, inner Lake Shore Drive, Oak and Michigan then resume the regular route.

Additionally, the CTA will make special accommodations for customers wishing to bring their bikes on buses and trains. All CTA bus routes can carry two bicycles per bus. The two bike limit on rail cars will be relaxed from 5 a.m. until noon on all CTA rail lines. CTA rail operators will determine whether a bike will fit on a rail car or if the car is too crowded.

Most rail lines will operate with additional cars during the following hours: Blue Line from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m. Red Line trains will begin departing Howard at 4 a.m. and 95th Street beginning at 4:20 a.m. The Brown Line will depart Kimball from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Green Line from 7 a.m. until 1:05 p.m. Orange Line trains will depart Midway from 5:35 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Purple Line trains will operate southbound from Linden to Howard from 6:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and six cars northbound from Howard to Linden from 11:45 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Damen Closed for Ongoing Cermak (Douglas) RenovationDamen will be closed between Cullerton and 21st Street from 6 a.m. Saturday, June 14 until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 15. #50 Damen buses will bererouted in both directions via Cermak, Ashland, 18th and Damen then resume the regular route.

Helicopter Lift Closes Dearborn Sunday MorningDearborn will be closed between Monroe and Jackson from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. for a helicopter lift. Northbound #36 Broadway and #62 Archer buses will be rerouted via Jackson, State, Madison to Dearborn, then resume the regular route. Westbound #126 Jackson buses will operate via Adams, State, Madison, Clark and back to Adams, then resume the regular route. South and westbound #151 Sheridan buses will operate via State, Madison, Clark to Adams, then resume the regular route.

Kedzie Bridge Closed for Cleaning Overnight SundayThe Kedzie Bridge over the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal will be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday. #52 Kedzie/California buses will operate inboth directions via 26th, California, 35th and Kedzie, then resume the regular route.

Sewer Construction Closes Broadway Beginning MondayBroadway will be closed for sewer construction at Glenlake from 9 a.m. Monday, June 16 until 4 p.m. Thursday, June 19. #36 Broadway buses will be rerouted southbound only via Granville, Sheridan, Thorndale and back to Broadway, then resume the regular route.

Helicopter Lift Closes North Avenue at Wells Monday MorningA helicopter lift at the Second City building, 1616 North Wells, will close North Avenue between Wells and North Park; and Weiland between North Avenue and Schiller from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Monday. #72 North buses will operate in both directions via Sedgwick, Division, LaSalle and back to North Avenue, then resume the regular route.

63rd Street Closed for Rail Viaduct Rehab Project until June 20Work on the CSX railway viaduct has closed 63rd Street eastbound only between Bell and Hamilton. Eastbound #63 63rd buses are being rerouted via Western, Marquette, Damen to 63rd, then resume the regular route.
