EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 11 - 13

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Saturday Through Next Thursday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 63rd and 79th Streets from 11 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday and northbound in the same location from 11 p.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday.

Single track service also will be in effect northbound between 79th and 69th Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, June 14 and Tuesday night, June 15 and again northbound between 69th and 63rd Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Wednesday night, June 16 and Thursday night, June 17.

Customers should allow additional travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceThe use of by-pass tracks that have been in place between 69th and 71st Streets since mid-April will be discontinued this weekend, allowing trains to return to the main tracks.

CTA trains will continue to use by-pass tracks between 43rd and 45th Streets until mid-July.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal station locations.

Racine Closed for Sewer Work until Friday AfternoonRacine is closed between Roosevelt and 14th Street now until 3 p.m. Friday. #60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate in both directions via Racine, Roosevelt, Blue Island, back to Racine, then resume the regular route.

Longer Trains to Serve Blues Music Festival Longer trains will operate on the CTA's Green, Orange and Brown Lines for the Chicago Blues Music Festival in Grant Park running today through Sunday, June 13. Performances take place from 11 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. each day.

Kedzie Bridge Over Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal Closes Tonight and Sunday NightThe Kedzie bridge over the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal will be closed from 10 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. Friday, June 11 and again from 10 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday, June 14. Northbound #52 Kedzie/California buses will operate via 36th, California, 31st, back to Kedzie, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via 31st, California, 36th Place, Albany, 36th Street back to Kedzie, then resume the regular route.

Madison Closes Saturday and SundayMadison will be closed between Wood and Paulina from 5 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Westbound #20 Madison buses will operate via Paulina, Washington, Wood, back to Madison, then resume the regular route. Eastbound buses will operate via Wood, Warren, Paulina back to Madison, then resume the regular route.

Lincoln Closes for Ribfest Saturday and SundayLincoln will be closed between Irving Park and Warner for the Northcenter Ribfest from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. #11 Lincoln buses will operate in both directions via Montrose, Damen, back to Lincoln, then resume the regular route.

Chicago Quarter Marathon Sunday to Reroute #3, #4 and #29 Bus Routes 34th Street will be closed between Shields and Wells from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday for the Second Annual Chicago Quarter Marathon. The 6.55 mile race will step off at 8 a.m. and proceed west on 34th to Shields, north to 33rd, east to King Drive north in the northbound lanes to 31st, east to Forth Dearborn Drive, north to McCormick Place Lakeside tunnel, through and around the lakefront running path, south back to 31st Street bridge at Lake Shore Drive, west to King Drive, south in the southbound lanes to 33rd, west to Shields, south to 34th, east to the finish line at Wells.

Three bus routes will be rerouted during the race. Northbound #3 King Drive buses will operate via 35th, Wentworth, westbound I-90/I-94 entrance ramp, merge left to Cermak/Lake Shore Drive, follow curve to King Drive Exit 293B, exit expressway eastbound at 25th, back to King Drive then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via 25th, enter I-55 west, west on I-55 to I-90/I-94 east exit ramp 293B, merge onto the exit ramp, continue south onto the Dan Ryan, exit at 35th and continue south on Wells to 35th, east on 35th back to King Drive then resume the regular route.

#4 Cottage Grove buses will operate in both directions via 35th, Wentworth, west I-90/I-94 entrance ramp to 31st exit, exit expressway at Wentworth/31st, east on 31st back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.

#29 State buses will operate in both directions via 35th, Wentworth, west I-90/I?94 entrance ramp to 31st exit, exit expressway at Wentworth/31st, east on 31st back to State, then resume the regular route.

Other bus routes operating along the race course will likely experience intermittent service delays for the duration of the race.

35th Street Closes for Metra Viaduct Painting Beginning Monday35th Street will be closed between State and LaSalle from 7 a.m. Monday until 5 p.m. Saturday, June 19. Eastbound #35 35th buses will operate via LaSalle, 33rd, State, back to 35th, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via State, Pershing, LaSalle, back to 35th, then resume the regular route.

Grand Avenue Bridge Closes Overnight TuesdayThe Grand Avenue bridge over the Chicago River will be closed from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 16. #65 Grand buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, Chicago, Kingsbury, back to Grand, then resume the regular route.

Chicago Avenue Bridge Closes Overnight for Three Nights Beginning WednesdayThe Chicago Avenue bridge over the Chicago River will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. #66 Chicago buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, Division, Crosby, Larrabee, back to Chicago, then resume the regular route.
