EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF JULY 9 - 11

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Saturday Through Next Thursday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 33rd and 55th Streets from 11 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday and northbound in the same location from 11 p.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday.

Single track service also will be in effect southbound between 33rd and 45th Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, July 12 through Thursday night, July 15.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceThe use of by-pass tracks between 43rd and 45th Streets will end this weekend, allowing trains to return to the main tracks.

CTA trains continue to use by-pass tracks between 62nd and 58th Streets until late August.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.

Pershing Closed for Sewer RepairsPershing Road is closed westbound only between Cottage Grove and Vincennes from now through Friday, July 9. Westbound #39 Pershing buses will operate via Pershing, Cottage Grove, Oakwood, Vincennes, back to Pershing, then resume the regular route. Eastbound service will not be affected.

Street Festival Closes Lincoln SaturdayLincoln will be closed between Montrose and Wilson from 4 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday. Southbound #11 Lincoln buses will operate via Lincoln, Wilson, Damen, Montrose, back to Lincoln, then resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via Lincoln, Montrose, Western, Leland, back to Lincoln, then resume the regular route.

Helicopter Lift Closes Michigan and Walton Saturday MorningA helicopter lift at 919 North Michigan will close Michigan between Delaware and Oak; Walton between Rush and Mies van der Rohe; and westbound Walton between Mies van der Rohe and Dewitt from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.

#10 Museum of Science & Industry buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, Chicago, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Oak, State, Chicago, back to Michigan then resume the regular route.

#145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, Oak, State, Chicago, back to Michigan then resume the regular route.

Bicycle Ride May Cause Intermittent Service Delays Overnight Saturday The L.A.T.E. (Long After Twilight Ends) bicycle ride will take place from 11:59 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, July 11. The 25 mile ride will begin at Columbus/Balbo and proceed south to Roosevelt, west to Halsted, north to Washington, east to Dearborn, north to Division, west to Wells, north to Lincoln, northwest to Addison, west to Elston, northwest to Pulaski, north to Foster, east to the Lakefront bike path, south to Museum Campus and back west to finish at Columbus/Balbo. Buses operating along these streets may experience intermittent service delays during the ride.

Additional Service Provided for Double-Header Soccer Games at Soldier Field SundayAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes serving Soldier Field for two soccer games Saturday. The first is an international game between Team USA and Poland beginning at 6 p.m. It will be followed by the Chicago Fire versus the New England Revolution at 8:30 p.m. Additional bus service will begin at 4:30 p.m. and continue until one hour after the games end or as crowds warrant.

Clark Street Bridge Over the Chicago River Closes Beginning MondayThe Clark Street bridge over the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily Monday, July 12 through Friday, July 16 and again on Monday, July 19. Southbound #22 Clark buses will operate via Clark, Kinzie, LaSalle, Wacker, back to Clark, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Filming Project Closes Two South Side Streets WednesdayA filming project will close 47th Street between Indiana and King Drive from10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 14. Eastbound #47 47th buses will operate via 47th, Indiana, 46th, King, back to 47th, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via 47th, King, 46th, Michigan, back to 47th, then resume the regular route.

Later the same day, 63rd Street will be closed between Cottage Grove and King Drive from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. #63 63rd buses will operate in both directions via 63rd, King, 61st, Cottage Grove, back to 63rd, then resume the regular route.
