Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of July 22 - 24

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to track maintenance on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 79th and 63rd Streets from 8 p.m. Friday, July 22 until 8 a.m. Saturday, July 23. Single track service will be in effect northbound between 69th and 55th Streets from 8 p.m. Saturday, July 24 until noon Sunday, July 24.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekSingle track service will be in effect southbound between 63rd and 69th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, July 25 and Tuesday night, July 26 and northbound in the same location during the same hours Wednesday night, July 27.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line for Subway Sewer Cleaning Friday Single track service will be in effect southbound between Damen and Grand from 10 p.m. Friday, July 22 until 6 a.m. Saturday, July 23.

Marquette Closes at Michigan Avenue for Sewer Work on FridayMarquette will be closed at Michigan Avenue from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, July 22. #67 67th/69th/71st buses will operate in both directions via State, 69th, King, back to Marquette, then resume the regular route.

Single Track in Effect on the Purple Line SaturdayDue to track maintenance on the Purple Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between Milburn and Linden from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23.

Additional Service Operates for Lollapalooza over the WeekendAdditional service will operate on the #130 Grant Park Treasures bus route for the Lollapalooza Concerts at Lower Hutchinson Field (bounded by Balbo, Roosevelt, Columbus and Lake Shore Drive) from 11:45 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24. Service will operate every 10 minutes from the Ogilvie Transportation Center to the Museum Campus from 8:20 a.m. until 5:40 p.m. and then from 5:50 p.m. (after the Museum Campus closes) until 8:20 p.m. from Ogilvie to Roosevelt/Columbus. Service will depart the Museum Campus to Ogilvie every 10 minutes from 8:45 a.m. until 6:05 p.m. and then every 10 minutes to Ogilvie from Balbo/Columbus from 6:20 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Longer trains will operate on the Blue, Brown, Green and Orange Lines until 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to accommodate Lollapalooza fans. Customers taking Red, Orange and Green Line trains can get off at Roosevelt and walk to the concert. Blue Line customers can transfer to #130 buses at Jackson. Brown Line customers can get off at Adams/Wabash and walk one block south to Jackson to transfer to #130 buses.

Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Two Northbound Brown Line Platforms SundayTrack maintenance on the Brown Line will take place from 6 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Diversey and Wellington stations. Customers who wish to exit at those stations will need to travel to Belmont and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations.

Michigan Avenue Closes for Helicopter Lift SundayA helicopter lift at 100 East Bellevue will close Michigan between Oak and Cedar, and the southbound exit ramp from Lake Shore Drive to Michigan/Oak from 9 a.m. until noon. Southbound #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will operate via Lake Shore Drive, LaSalle, Inner Lake Shore Drive, Division, State, Delaware to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Southbound #151 Sheridan buses will operate via Inner Lake Shore Drive, Division, State, Delaware to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via Michigan, Walton, State, Division, to Inner Lake Shore Drive, then resume the regular route.

Crane Lift Closes Adams on SundayA crane lift at the Kluzynski Federal Building will close Adams between State and Dearborn from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24 until 6 a.m. Monday, July 25. Westbound #1 Indiana/Hyde Park, #7 Harrison, #X28 Stony Island Express, #126 Jackson and #151 Sheridan buses will operate via Adams, State, Van Buren, Dearborn, back to Adams, then resume the regular route. Eastbound service will not be affected.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Two Southbound Red Line Platforms Beginning SundayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place from 10:30 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night from Sunday night, July 24 through Thursday night, July 28. As a result, southbound trains will not stop at the Argyle and Lawrence stations. During these hours, customers who wish to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Wilson station and transfer to northbound trains back to those stations.

Racine Closes for Street Reconstruction Beginning MondayRacine will be closed between Arthington and Roosevelt from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays beginning Monday, July 25 and lasting until Thursday, September 1. #60 Blue Island/26th buses will operate in both directions via Roosevelt, Loomis to Harrison, then resume the regular route.

Vincennes Closes for Viaduct Repairs Beginning MondayVincennes will be closed between 83rd and 84th Streets from 9 a.m. Monday, July 25 until 3 p.m. Friday, July 29. #24 Wentworth and #87 87th buses will operate in both directions via Vincennes, 81st, Halsted, back to Vincennes, then resume the regular route.

71st Street Closes for Railroad Crossing Repairs Beginning Monday71st Street will be closed between Pulaski and Kedzie from 9 a.m. Monday, July 25 until 5 p.m. Friday, July 29. #67 67th/69th/71st buses will operate in both directions via 71st, Kedzie, Marquette, Pulaski, back to 71st, then resume the regular route.

Racine Closes for Street Construction Beginning MondayRacine will be closed between Roosevelt and Harrison from 9 a.m. Monday, July 25 until 5 p.m. Monday, August 15. #60 Blue Island/26th will operate in both directions via Racine, Roosevelt, Loomis, to Harrison, then resume the regular route.

Additional Service Provided for Events at Charter One Pavilion at Northerly IslandAdditional service will operate on the #130 Grant Park Treasures bus route to accommodate visitors to events at the new Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island. For events taking place Mondays through Fridays, #130 buses will leave the pavilion to Ogilvie Transportation Center every 10 minutes until 30 minutes after the events end.

For events on Saturdays and Sundays, #130 service will operate from Ogilvie every 15 to 20 minutes until 25 minutes before the events start. Service will operate back to Ogilvie every few minutes until 30 minutes after the events end.

Division Closes for Farmers Market on Saturdays through October 22Division will be closed between State and Clark for the Near North Farmers Market from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. each Saturday through October 22. Southbound #36 Broadway buses will operate via Division, Clark, Maple to State, then resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via State, Elm back to Clark, then resume the regular route.

Eastbound #70 Division buses will operate via Division, Clark, Maple to Dearborn, then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.

State Street Closed for Construction State Street is closed northbound only between 91st and 87th Streets through Tuesday, August 2. Northbound #29 State buses are operating via State, 91st, Indiana, 87th, back to State, then resuming the regular route. Southbound service is not affected.

33rd Street Entrance at Sox-35th Red Line Station Temporarily Closed for Renovations As part of the ongoing renovation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, the 33rd Street entrance is closed until late October of this year. Customers are encouraged to use the 35th Street entrance to the station while the work is completed.

26th Street Closed for Railroad Viaduct Repairs 26th Street is closed between Kostner and Ogden until Tuesday, November 1. #60 Blue Island buses are operating in both directions via 26th, Kostner, Ogden, back to 26th, then resuming the regular route.

Lake Red Line Subway Entrance Temporarily Closed for RenovationsThe Lake Street station entrance to the Red Line is temporarily closed and is available as an exit only until late summer. Customers are encouraged to use the adjacent Red Line subway station entrance at Washington.

Trains continue to stop at the Lake Street subway station during all hours.Customers who wish to exit at the north end of the Lake station should walk north and use the newly renovated stairway. They also may enter and exit at the Randolph/Washington exit at the south end of the station.
