Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of January 27 - 29

Michigan Avenue Bridge over Chicago River Temporarily Closes
The Michigan Avenue bridge over the Chicago River will temporarily close from 11 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 until 6 a.m. Friday, January 27 for maintenance work.

Northbound #3 King Drive, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses will operate via Michigan to Wacker, State, Ohio, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.

Southbound buses will operate via Michigan to Ontario, State, Lake, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route.

Marine Drive Temporarily Closes for Water Main Work Marine Drive will temporarily close from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday, January 30 through Thursday, February 2 for water main work between Montrose and Junior Terrace.

Southbound #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #144 Marine/Michigan Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate via Marine Drive to Montrose, Clarendon, Junior Terrace, back to Marine Drive, then resume the regular route. Northbound service is not affected.

Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project:
CTA is working to expand capacity on the Brown Line. When the work is completed, customers will benefit from longer trains during rush hour, and accessible, modern stations and platforms.

Structural Maintenance Temporarily Closes Diversey Southbound Brown Line Platform Over Weekend
Structural maintenance will temporarily close the southbound platform at the Diversey station from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 29.

During these hours, southbound Brown Line trains will not stop at the Diversey station. Southbound customers who wish to exit at Diversey will need to travel to the Fullerton station and transfer to northbound Brown Line trains back to the Diversey station.

Southbound customers who wish to board at Diversey will need to board a northbound train at this station and exit at Wellington to board a southbound Brown Line train.

Additionally, Diversey Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 29. #76 Diversey buses will operate in both directions via Diversey, Sheffield, Belmont, Clark, back to Diversey, then resume the regular route.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line - Dan Ryan Branch Rehabilitation:
CTA is working to replace track, power and signal systems and upgrade stations along the branch. When the work is completed, customers will experience more reliable service and modern station amenities.

Late Night Single Track in Effect Beginning Thursday
Single track service will be in effect between 79th and 87th from 11 p.m. Thursday, January 26 until 4 a.m. Friday, January 27.

Single Track in Effect Over Weekend
Single track service will be in effect between 45th and Garfield from 8 p.m. Friday, January 27 until 8 a.m. Saturday, January 28 and again in the same location from 8 p.m. Saturday, January 28 until noon Sunday, January 29.

Single track service will be in effect between Garfield and 33rd from 8 p.m. Saturday, January 28 until noon Sunday, January 29.

Late Night Single Track in Effect Next Week
Single track service will be in effect between Garfield and 63rd from 11 p.m. Monday, January 30 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, January 31.

Single track service will be in effect between 94th and 87th from 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 31 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, February 1 and again in the same location, during the same hours Wednesday night, February 1 to Thursday morning, February 2.
