Single Track in Effect at the Rosemont Blue Line Station Next Week
A late night single track will be in effect for northbound Blue Line trains at the Rosemont station next week from 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 10 until 4 a.m. the following morning.
Northbound Blue Line customers at the Rosemont station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Red Line – Slow Zone
Daytime Reroute of Red Line Trains at Sheridan
A daytime reroute will be in effect for Red Line trains operating in both directions at the Sheridan station from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 7, while crews replace deteriorated rail ties, tie plates and spikes.
During this time, northbound and southbound Red Line trains will operate on the Purple Express tracks. Customers at the Sheridan station must board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of each platform.
Next Week
From approximately 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day beginning Tuesday, February 10 through Friday, February 13, a daytime reroute will be in effect for Red Line trains operating in both directions at the Sheridan station while crews replace deteriorated rail ties, tie plates and spikes.
During these times, northbound and southbound Red Line trains will operate on the Purple Express tracks. Customers at the Sheridan station must board and exit trains on the Purple Express side of each platform.
Blue Line – Other Events Affecting Service
Late Night Single Track in Effect for Blue Line Subway Trains This Weekend
A late night single track will be in effect for southbound Blue Line trains between the Grand and LaSalle stations from 9 p.m. Friday, February 6 until 7 a.m. the following morning due to signal repair work.
Southbound Blue Line customers at the Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe and Jackson stations must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Saturday Night – Northbound
From 9 p.m. Saturday, February 7 until 7 a.m. the following morning a late night single track will be in effect for northbound Blue Line trains between the UIC-Halsted and LaSalle stations as crews continue signal repair work.
Northbound Blue Line customers at the UIC-Halsted, Clinton and LaSalle stations must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Brown Line – Other Events Affecting Service
Brown Line Trains Temporarily Rerouted at Belmont on Friday
Due to work associated with the Brown Line Capacity Expansion project, southbound Brown Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Red Line tracks at Belmont from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 13.
Southbound Brown Line customers at the Belmont station must board and exit trains from the Red Line side of the platform.
CTA operators will announce the direction and route of each train.
Red Line – Other Events Affecting Service
Weekend Construction to Affect Northbound Red Line Customers Transferring at Howard
Northbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted at the Howard Terminal this weekend from 4 a.m. Saturday, February 7 until 4 a.m. Monday, February 9, while construction crews install canopies and stairway enclosures along the northbound Red, Yellow and Purple Line platform.
Northbound Red Line trains (six-car and eight-car trains only) will berth at the west platform at Howard.
During these times, northbound Red Line customers who want to transfer to Purple or Yellow Line trains must go through the new Howard Terminal to access northbound trains. CTA operators will announce whether customers will need to transfer to another platform to board northbound Purple or Yellow Line trains. Customer Assistants will be available to assist customers.
Northbound Purple and Yellow Line trains are not affected and will operate normally.
Southbound Red Line trains leaving Howard are not affected and will operate normally.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
Late Night Single Track for Red Line Subway Trains between Grand and Clark/Division
A late night single track will be in effect for northbound Red Line trains between the Grand and Clark/Division stations from 10 p.m. Sunday, February 8 until 4 a.m. the following morning for sewer cleaning in the subway.
During this time, northbound Red Line customers at the Grand and Chicago stations must board and exit trains from the southbound platform.
Northbound Red Line customers at the Clark/Division station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Next Week
Sewer cleaning in the Red Line subway will continue during the week from 11 p.m. each night until 4 a.m. the following morning beginning Monday night, February 9 through Friday morning, February 13. During these times, a single track will be in effect for northbound Red Line trains between the Grand and Clark/Division stations.
Northbound Red Line customers at the Grand and Chicago stations must board and exit trains from the southbound platform.
Northbound Red Line customers at the Clark/Division station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.

Red Line Trains Temporarily Rerouted at Belmont on Thursday
Due to work associated with the Brown Line Capacity Expansion project, southbound Red Line trains will be temporarily rerouted to operate on the Brown Line tracks at Belmont from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, February 12.
Southbound Red Line customers at the Belmont station must board and exit trains from the Brown Line side of the platform.
CTA operators will announce the direction and route of each train.
Additional Service for Special Events
#19 United Center Express Serves Upcoming Events
CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses on the following dates and times:
- Tuesday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. – Detroit Pistons versus Bulls
- Thursday, February 12 at 6 p.m. – Miami Heat versus Bulls
Buses will leave every 10 minutes from Michigan and Randolph starting 90 minutes before the start of the event until the starting time of the event. When the event ends, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.
#19 buses no longer make stops along Michigan Avenue north of Randolph, but continue to make all stops on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.
After the event, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses operate through downtown east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops from Jefferson to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making the final stop at Randolph.
New/Updated Changes in Bus Service
Eastbound #66 Chicago Buses Unable to Stop at Chicago/Franklin on Sunday
On Sunday, February 8 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., a portion of Chicago Avenue will be reduced to one lane affecting eastbound service.
During this time, eastbound #66 Chicago buses will be unable to make stops at Chicago/Franklin. Customers are advised to board and exit #66 buses at the bus stop located at Chicago/Orleans.
Temporary Relocation of Southbound Bus Stop at State/16th
Effective, Monday, February 9 until Tuesday, December 15, the southbound far side bus stop located on State Street at 16th will be temporarily relocated to a near side stop due to construction. This stop is served by #29 State, #62 Archer and #129 West Loop/South Loop buses.
Daytime Closure of Randolph Street Bridge Reroutes Southbound #125 Buses
Due to repair work, the Randolph Street Bridge over the Chicago River will be closed to all traffic from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day beginning Monday, February 9 through Friday, February 13.
Southbound #125 Water Tower Express buses will operate over the regular route along Wacker to Lake then will travel via Lake to Clinton and then resume the regular route. Northbound #125 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.

Buses Rerouted on Harrison Due to Construction
Harrison Street between Paulina and Ashland will be closed to all traffic until March 2009, due to construction.
Eastbound #7 Harrison buses will travel over the regular route to Paulina then will operate via Polk, Ashland to Harrison and then resume the regular route.
Eastbound #126 Jackson buses operating during late evenings, weekends and holidays will travel over the regular route to Harrison then will operate via Harrison, Wood, Polk, Ashland to Harrison and then resume the regular route.
#7 Harrison Bus Stop Temporarily Relocated
Until further notice, the westbound mid-block bus stop located at Harrison near Paulina served by the #7 Harrison will be temporarily relocated around the corner on Paulina due to construction.
Bus Stop Relocated Due to Construction at Chestnut and Lake Shore Drive
The bus stop located at Chestnut and Lake Shore Drive served by #10 Museum of Science & Industry and #157 Streeterville buses has been relocated until June 1, 2011, due to construction. Customers must board and exit #157 buses at Inner Lake Shore Drive and Pearson. #10 customers should board on Chestnut between Mies van der Rohe and Michigan or on Michigan southbound at Pearson.
#2 Hyde Park Express and #15 Jeffery Local Buses Rerouted
Buses operating in both directions along the #2 Hyde Park Express and #15 Jeffery Local routes will be detoured until further notice.
Northbound #2 buses will operate over the regular route along Drexel to 47th, then travel via 47th, Woodlawn to 51st and then resume the regular route. Southbound #2 buses will travel the reverse route.
Northbound #15 buses will operate over the regular route along Hyde Park to Woodlawn then will travel via Woodlawn, 47th, Drexel to 51st and then resume the regular route. Southbound #15 buses will travel the reverse route.
#24 Wentworth Buses Temporarily Rerouted Due to Sewer Repair Work
Until further notice, #24 Wentworth buses will be temporarily rerouted to adjacent streets due to sewer repair work at the intersection of Vincennes Avenue and 71st Street.
#34 South Michigan Buses Temporarily Rerouted Due to Construction
Until further notice, 130th Street at Indiana Avenue is closed due to viaduct and sewer repair work. Southbound #34 South Michigan buses will travel over the regular route along Michigan to 115th and then operate via 115th, Bishop Ford Expressway, 130th to Langley and then resume the regular route. Northbound #34 buses will travel the reverse route. During this time, bus shuttles will operate along Michigan Avenue between 115th and 127th streets.
#43 43rd Buses Rerouted Due to Construction
Halsted is closed at Root Street from 6 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and again at 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. each day until further notice, due to construction. Westbound #43 43rd buses will operate over the regular route to Halsted and then will travel via Halsted, 45th Street, Morgan to Exchange and then resume the regular route. Eastbound #43 buses will operate the reverse route.
#60 Blue Island/26th Buses Rerouted Due to Street Closure
Until further notice, Laflin Street between Cermak and 21st Place will be closed to all traffic due to construction at Benito Juarez School. Eastbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will travel over the regular route to Cermak then will operate via Cermak, Loomis, 21st Street then return to Laflin and resume the regular route. Westbound #60 buses will operate the reverse route.
