EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF FEBRUARY 20 – 22

State Street Subway Closes for Cable Installation Beginning Saturday NightThe State Street subway will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday, February 21 until 1 p.m. Sunday, February 22 while communication cable is being installed in the State Street subway. Red Line trains will be rerouted over the elevated structure between Fullerton and Roosevelt. Red Line trains will make stops at Chicago, Merchandise Mart, Clark/Lake, State/Lake, Randolph/Wabash, Madison/ Wabash, Adams/Wabash and Roosevelt. Customers can transfer to Brown, Orange, Green and Blue Line trains at Clark/Lake.

Additionally a bus shuttle will operate between Fullerton and Roosevelt serving stations at Fullerton, North/Clybourn, Clark/Division, Chicago, Grand, Lake, Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Harrison, and Roosevelt.

CTA also will have a paratransit van available for customers with disabilities who are traveling between Clark/Lake and the four accessible State Street subway stations affected by the closure: Chicago, Lake, Washington or Jackson. Customers needing the van service should make their request to the Customer Assistant at their particular station.

Customers are asked to allow up to 30 minutes for additional travel time.

Halsted Closed for Water Main Installation (revised reroute)The northbound lanes of Halsted are closed between 63rd and 65th Streets through Friday, April 16. Northbound #8 Halsted buses are operating via Halsted Parkway (a circular drive just east of Halsted), 63rd, Peoria Parkway, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.

Jefferson Closes for Crane Dismantling over the WeekendJefferson will be closed between Randolph and Lake from 6 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday while a construction crane is dismantled. Northbound #56 Milwaukee buses will operate via Madison, Jefferson, Randolph, Halsted, Lake, back to Jefferson, then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.

Crane Lift Closes Michigan Avenue SundayA crane lifting equipment to the roof of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 116 South Michigan, will close the three southbound lanes of Michigan Avenue from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, February 22. Southbound #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #14 Jeffery Express, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express buses will operate via Madison, State, Jackson, back to Michigan then resume the regular route. Northbound service on these routes will not be affected.

51st Street Bridge Over the Dan Ryan Expressway Closed on WednesdayThe 51st Street bridge over the Dan Ryan will be closed from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 25 for construction. Northbound #15 Jeffery Local buses will operate via Wentworth and 47th to the 47th Street Red Line station. Southbound buses will leave the station and operate via 47th, Wells, 55th, Wentworth, back to 51st then resume the regular route.

Eastbound #51 51st buses will operate via Wells, 55th, Wentworth and 47th to the 47th Street Red Line station. Westbound buses will leave the station and operate via Wells, back to 51st then resume the regular route.
