EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF FEBRUARY 18 - 20

CTA Provides Convenient Service to the Chicago Auto ShowThree accessible Chicago Transit Authority bus routes will provide service to the 2005 Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place South through Sunday, February 20 at all hours the show is open. Service to McCormick Place will begin approximately one hour before the show opens and operate until one hour after the show ends each day.

Buses will operate to McCormick Place directly from Metra stations west of the Loop, from downtown, from North Michigan Avenue, and from the South and West Sides. Customers can transfer to these buses from other bus routes and from all 'L' and subway lines serving downtown.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 63rd and 69th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday, February 18 until 8 a.m. Saturday, February 19 and southbound between 15th and 23rd Streets from 8 p.m. Saturday, February 19 until noon Sunday, February 20. Customers should allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Tuesday through Next ThursdaySingle track service will be in effect northbound between 63rd and 55th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Tuesday night, February 22 and again during the same hours northbound between 69th and 63rd Streets Wednesday night, February 23 and southbound between 45th and 55th Streets Thursday night, February 24. Customers should allow extra travel time.

Armitage Closes for Maintenance to 'L' Structure on SundayArmitage will be closed under the Brown Line elevated structure from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, February 20. #73 Armitage buses will operate in both directions via Armitage, Sheffield, Webster, Halsted, back to Armitage, then resume the regular route.

Halsted Bridge over the South Branch of the Chicago River Closes for Repairs on TuesdayThe Halsted bridge over the South Branch of the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 22. #8 Halsted buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, Archer, Canal, Cermak, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.

Cermak Bridge over the South Branch of the Chicago River Closes for Repairs on WednesdayThe Cermak bridge over the South Branch of the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 23. #21 Cermak buses will operate via Cermak, Canal, Lumber, back to Cermak, then resume the regular route.

LaSalle Street Closed for Water Main WorkLaSalle Street is closed northbound between 32nd and 33rd Streets weekdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. now through Monday, February 28. Northbound #24 Wentworth buses are operating via LaSalle, 33rd, State, 31st, back to LaSalle, then resuming the regular route. Southbound service is not affected.
