Garfield Closed for Metra Work until SaturdayGarfield is closed between Wentworth and State westbound only for Metra bridge construction until Saturday, December 6. #55 Garfield and #X55 Garfield Express buses will operate via State, 57th, Wentworth, back to 55th then resume the regular route. Eastbound service is not affected.
Three Bus Routes to be Rerouted for Parade SaturdayKing Drive will be closed between 72nd and 75th; 75th between King Drive and Cottage Grove; and Cottage Grove between 75th and 89th for a Kwanzaa parade Saturday. The parade will assemble at 9 a.m. and is expected to end by noon. Northbound #3 King Drive buses will operate via 79th, State, 71st, back to King and the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via 71st, Lafayette, 79th, back to King and the regular route.
#4 Cottage Grove buses will operate in both directions via 87th, King, 71st, back to Cottage Grove and the regular route.
#75 74th/75th buses will operate eastbound via State, 71st, Cottage Grove, back to 75th and the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Cottage Grove, 71st, Lafayette, back to 75th and the regular route.
Holiday Parade Closes 63rd Street Saturday63rd Street will be closed between Tripp and Oakley from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday for the 63rd Street Holiday Parade. #63 63rd buses will operate in both directions via Cicero, Marquette, Damen, back to 63rd then resume the regular route. Additionally, #49 Western, #52A South Kedzie, #53A South Pulaski and #94 South California buses may experience intermittent delays as they cross 63rd Street.
Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade to Cause Intermittent Delays SundayThe annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade will take place on Western Avenue from 6 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 7. The bikers will travel northbound on Western from Dan Ryan Woods at 83rd and Western to Foster where they will head west to Troy and the Marine Corps Reserve Center. Northbound #49 Western buses and all bus routes crossing Western may experience intermittent service delays during the parade.
Later Bus Service on Cicero to Accommodate Expanded Hours at Ford City#54B South Cicero buses will operate until 9:05 p.m. on Sunday, December 7 from the Ford City Shopping Center to accommodate extended shopping hours at the mall. #54B buses also will be scheduled to operate later as the shopping season progresses and extended hours are announced.
