Bud Billiken Parade Closes King Drive SaturdayThe annual Bud Billiken Parade will close King Drive from 35th to Garfield Saturday causing six CTA bus routes to be detoured around the parade. Affected routes are #3 King Drive, #28 Stony Island, #43 43rd, #47 47th, #51 51st and #55 Garfield. Longer Green Line trains will operate from8 a.m. until needed as crowds warrant.
Crane Lift Closes Adams Saturday Adams will be closed between Clark and LaSalle from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday. Westbound #126 Jackson and #151 Sheridan buses will operate via Dearborn, Madison, Wacker, back to Adams then resume the regular route.
Halsted Closes for FestivalHalsted will be closed between Belmont and Addison from 3 a.m. Saturdayuntil 3 a.m. Monday for the North Halsted Market Day Festival. #8 Halsted buses will operate in both directions via Belmont, Clark, Sheffield, Addison, back to Halsted then resume the regular route.
#151 Sheridan buses will operate in both directions via Belmont, Clark, Sheffield, Addison, back to Sheridan then resume the regular route.
# 77 Belmont buses will operate in both directions via Clark, Halsted, back to Belmont then resume the regular route.
Harrison and Kedzie Close for Ongoing Cermak (Douglas) Blue Line RenovationDue to the ongoing renovation of the Cermak (Douglas) Branch of the Blue Line, Harrison will be closed between Paulina and Wood from 7 a.m. Friday until 11:59 p.m. Sunday. #7 Harrison and #126 Jackson buses will operate eastbound via Damen, Jackson, Ashland, back to Harrison then resume the regular route.
Kedzie will be closed between 19th and 21st Streets from 6 a.m. Saturday until6 p.m. Sunday. #52 Kedzie/California buses will operate northbound via Cermak, Marshall, Ogden, back to Kedzie then resume the regular route. Southbound #52 buses will operate via Ogden, Sacramento, Cermak, back to Kedzie then resume the regular route.
Parade May Cause Service Delays Midday SundayThe Independence of Ecuador Parade takes place Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. along Montrose Avenue. The parade will assemble at 4552 North Kimball, march south on Kimball to Montrose, east on Montrose to California where it will disband. Service on the #78 Montrose and #82 Kimball/Homan buses may experience intermittent delays during the parade.
Sewer Work Closes Pulaski at North AvenueSewer work will close Pulaski at North Avenue from 9 a.m. Monday, August 11 through Friday, August 15. #53 Pulaski buses will operate in both directions via North Avenue, Homan, Armitage, back to Pulaski then resume the regular route.
Viaduct Work Closes 43rd Street Beginning MondayConstruction work on the Rock Island Railroad viaduct will close 43rd Street at LaSalle from 7 a.m. Monday, August 11 until 5 p.m. Friday, August 15. Eastbound #43 43rd buses will operate via Wentworth, 47th, State, back to 43rd then resume the regular route. Westbound #43 buses will operate via State, 47th, LaSalle, back to 43rd then resume the regular route.
Chicago Avenue Bridge Closed for CleaningThe Chicago Avenue Bridge over the north branch of the Chicago River (622 West Chicago) will be closed daily from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 11 through Friday, August 15 for cleaning. #66 Chicago buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, Division, Crosby, Larrabee, back to Chicago then resume the regular route.
Bus Terminal at North Avenue Beach Closes Monday for the Air and Water ShowThe bus terminal at North Avenue Beach will be closed beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, August 11 for set-up of the annual Air and Water Show next weekend. The terminal will remain closed until 3 p.m. Monday, August 18. #72 North Avenue buses will use the bus terminal at North and Clark during this time.
Construction Closes 103rd until the End of SeptemberStreet reconstruction has closed the eastbound lanes of 103rd Street between Dauphin and Cottage Grove. The closure is expected to last until September 30.#106 East 103rd buses will operate eastbound via King Drive, 107th, Cottage Grove, back to 103rd then resume the regular route.
Sewer Work Closes 16th Street Sewer work has closed 16th Street between Central Park and Millard until Friday, August 15. #18 16th/18th buses will operate eastbound via Pulaski, Cermak, Ogden, Central Park, back to 16th then resume the regular route. #18 buses will operate westbound via Kedzie, Ogden, Cermak, Pulaski, back to 16th then resume the regular route.
Sewer Work Closes Devon Sewer construction has closed Devon at Richmond until Tuesday, August 26. #155 Devon buses will operate in both directions via Kedzie, Lincoln, Peterson, California, back to Devon then resume the regular route.
Movie Filming Closes 79th Street until Mid-September The filming of ?Barbershop 2? will close 79th Street between Escanaba and Exchange intermittently for 16 days until Wednesday, September 17. On the affected dates, the closures will occur from approximately 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. #79 79th buses will be rerouted in both directions via Yates, 75th, South Shore Drive, back to 79th then resume the regular route. Due to weather and other circumstances, these dates are subject to change.
