Single Track in Effect on Red Line Over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 55th and 69th Streets from 11 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday and again northbound in the same location from 11 p.m. Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday.
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Monday through Next ThursdaySingle track service will be in effect southbound between 45th and 55th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, August 9 through Thursday night, August 12.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceBy-pass tracks between 58th and 62nd Streets will discontinue this weekend when trains return to the main tracks at that location.
CTA trains continue to use by-pass tracks between 30th and 34th Streets until mid-September.
Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.
16th Street Closed for Sewer Work 16th Street is closed between Pulaski and Springfield until late September. #18 16th/18th buses will operate in both directions via 16th, Pulaski, Roosevelt, Central Park, back to 16th, then resume the regular route.
Halsted Bridge over the Chicago River Closes FridayThe Halsted Street bridge over the Chicago River North Branch Canal will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friday. #8 Halsted buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, Hooker, Division, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.
Crane Set-Up Closes LaSalle Beginning Friday NightA crane lifting equipment at 130 North LaSalle will close LaSalle between Randolph and Washington from 7 p.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Sunday. The closure may affect some Friday evening trips on the #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express and the #156 LaSalle bus routes. Affected trips will operate northbound via LaSalle, Washington, Dearborn, Randolph, back to LaSalle, then resume the regular route. Southbound trips will operate via LaSalle, Randolph, Wells, Washington, back to LaSalle, then resume the regular route.
Halsted Closes for ?Market Days? Beginning SaturdayHalsted will be closed between Addison and Belmont from 4 a.m. Saturday until 11:59 p.m. Sunday. #8 Halsted buses will operate in both directions via Halsted, Clark, Addison, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.
#N77 Belmont Night Buses will operate in both directions via Belmont, Clark, Halsted, back to Belmont, then resume the regular route.
#151 Sheridan buses with Sheridan/Belmont destination signs will operate in both directions via Belmont, Clark, Sheffield, Addison, back to Sheridan, then resume the regular route.
Helicopter Lift Closes Wacker and Wabash Sunday MorningA helicopter lift at 71 East Wacker will close Wacker between Michigan and State, and Wabash between Wacker Place and Grand from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Sunday. Southbound #6 Jackson Park Express and #146 Inner Drive/ Michigan Express buses will operate via Michigan, Randolph, back to State, then resume the regular route. Northbound #146 buses will operate via State, Lake, back to Michigan, then resume the regular route. Northbound #6 service will not be affected.
Ecuador Parade Closes Montrose Sunday Montrose will be closed between Kimball and Western from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday. #78 Montrose buses will operate in both directions via Montrose, Kimball, Irving Park, Western, back to Montrose, then resume the regular route.
Pakistan Independence Parade Closes Devon Sunday AfternoonDevon will be closed between Damen and Western from noon until 3:30 p.m. Sunday. #155 Devon buses will operate in both directions via Devon, California, Lunt, Ridge, back to Devon, then resume the regular route.
Division Bridge over the Chicago River Closes Beginning MondayThe Division bridge over the North Branch Main Channel of the Chicago River will be closed daily from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 9 through Friday, August 13. #70 Division buses will operate in both directions via Division, Elston, Milwaukee, Chicago, Halsted, back to Division, then resume the regular route.
Additional Service Provided for Soccer Game at Soldier Field Wednesday Night Additional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes serving Soldier Field for a soccer game between the Chicago Fire and San Jose Earthquakes Wednesday, August 11 at 7:30 p.m. Additional service will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.
