Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of August 26 - 28

Cortland Bridge Over the North Branch of the Chicago River Closed for RepairsThe Cortland bridge over the Chicago River is closed weekdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Tuesday, August 30. #73 Armitage buses will operate in both directions via Cortland, Elston, Ashland, Webster, Clybourn to Racine, then resume the regular route.

Additional Service Provided for Bears Pre-Season Game Friday NightAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes serving Soldier Field for the Bears pre-season game against the Buffalo Bills at 7 p.m. Friday, August 26. CTA's #128 Soldier Field Express route also will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the game. Additional service on all three routes will begin at 5 p.m. Service will continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.

Single Track in Service on the Brown Line Beginning FridayDue to track maintenance on the Brown Line, single track service will be in effect between Kimball and Albany from 9 p.m. Friday, August 26 until 9 a.m. Saturday, August 27.

Late Night Single Track in Effect in Dearborn Subway of the Blue Line for Sewer Cleaning Friday and SaturdaySingle track service will be in effect southbound between Grand and LaSalle from 11 p.m. Friday, August 26 until 6 a.m. Saturday, August 27 and again from 10 p.m. Saturday, August 27 until 6 a.m. Sunday, August 28.

126th Street Closes for Block Party Saturday126th Street will be closed between Michigan and State from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, August 27. Southbound #34 South Michigan buses will operate via Michigan, Brayton, State, 127th, back to Michigan where they will begin their northbound trips.

Additional Service Provided for Concert at Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island SundayAdditional service will be provided on the #130 Grant Park Treasures bus route for the Jack Johnson with ALO and Matt Costa concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 28. Service will operate to the concert every 15 minutes until 6:35 p.m. from the Ogilvie Transportation Center with return trips operating back to Ogilvie every few minutes until 30 minutes after the concert ends.

Addison Street Closes for Repairs to the Brown Line Elevated Structure SundayAddison Street will be closed between Ravenswood and Wolcott from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday, August 27. #152 Addison buses will operate in both directions via Addison, Damen, Belmont, Lincoln, back to Addison, then resume the regular route.

Fullerton Closes for Freight Railroad Crossing Repairs Beginning TuesdayFullerton will be closed between Wayne and Lakewood from 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 30 though 6 a.m. Thursday, September 1. #74 Fullerton buses will operate in both directions via Fullerton, Southport, Diversey, Racine, back to Fullerton, then resume the regular route.

Division Bridge Over the North Branch of the Chicago River Closes for Repairs Beginning TuesdayThe Division bridge over the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day from Tuesday, August 30 until Thursday, September 1. Eastbound #70 Division buses will operate via Division, Hooker, Halsted, back to Division, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Division, Halsted, North Branch, back to Division, then resume the regular route.

State Street Closed for Sewer WorkState Street is closed northbound only between 91st and 87th Streets weekdays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. through Friday, September 2. Northbound #29 State buses are operating via State, 91st, Indiana, 88th, back to State, then resuming the regular route. Southbound service is not affected.

Main Street Closed for Purple Line Viaduct Repairs Main Street in Evanston is closed at the Purple Line viaduct until late October. #200 Main Shuttle buses are operating in a one-way loop via Main, Ridge, Greenleaf, Chicago, back to Main.

Red Line Work:
Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line over the WeekendDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 63rd and 69th from 8 p.m. Friday, August 26 until 8 a.m. Saturday, August 27 and southbound between Garfield and 69th from 8 p.m. Saturday, August 27 until noon Sunday, August 28.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekSingle track service will be in effect northbound between 63rd and Garfield from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Tuesday night, August 30 and southbound in the same location during the same hours Wednesday night, August 31 and Thursday night, September 1.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Three Northbound Red Line Platforms Beginning FridayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m. Friday night, August 26 and Saturday night, August 27. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Wilson, Lawrence or Argyle stations. During these hours, customers who wish to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Berwyn station and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations.

Maintenance Temporarily Closes Southbound Red Line Platform Beginning SaturdayPlatform rehabilitation will temporarily close the southbound platform at the 63rd station on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, August 27 and from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday, August 28. As a result southbound customers who wish to exit at 63rd will need to travel to 69th and transfer to northbound trains back to 63rd.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Two Northbound Red Line Platforms Beginning SundayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night from Sunday night, August 28 through Thursday night, September 1. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Morse and Jarvis stations. During these hours, customers who wish to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Howard station and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations.

Maintenance Temporarily Closes Northbound Red Line Station Monday Track maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place from 1 a.m. until 4 a.m. Monday, August 29. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Addison station. During those hours, customers who wish to exit at Addison, will need to travel to the Sheridan station and transfer to southbound trains back to Addison.
