EVENTS AFFECTING CTA SERVICE BEGINNING THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 20 - 22

Single Track in Effect on Red Line Overnight SaturdayDue to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 45th and 55th Streets from 8 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Tuesday through Next ThursdaySingle track service will be in effect northbound between 23rd and 15th Streets from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Tuesday night, August 24 through Thursday night, August 26.

Customers should allow extra travel time.

Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line reconstruction, CTA trains are using by-pass tracks between 30th and 34th Streets until late August.

CTA trains also are using by-pass tracks between 92nd and 96th Streets until early October.

Customers will continue to board trains at their normal stations.

Filming Project Closes Several Downtown Streets Overnight FridayA filming project will close several downtown streets from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday. The closures are: LaSalle between Washington and Jackson, Clark between Adams and Jackson, Jackson between Clark and Wells, Adams between Clark and Wells, and Monroe between Clark and Wells.

Eastbound #1 Indiana/Hyde Park, #7 Harrison, #X28 Stony Island Express, #126 Jackson and #129 West Loop/South Loop buses will operate via Jackson, Franklin, Monroe, State, back to Jackson, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Adams, Dearborn, Madison, Wacker, back to Adams, then resume the regular route.

Northbound #151 Sheridan buses will operate via Jackson, Franklin, Monroe, back to State, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Adams, Dearborn, Madison, Wacker, back to Adams, then resume the regular route.

Northbound #134 Stockton/LaSalle Express, #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express, #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, and #156 LaSalle buses will operate via Jackson, Franklin, Washington, back to LaSalle, then resume the regular route. Southbound service will not be affected.

Southbound #22 Clark and #24 Wentworth buses will operate via Clark, Monroe, State, Congress, back to Clark, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Additionally, there will be intermittent closures after 9 p.m. on LaSalle between Madison and Washington while a helicopter films scenes. During this time, Eastbound #7 Harrison and #126 Jackson buses will operate via Jackson, Franklin, Washington, State, back to Jackson, then resume the regular route. Westbound buses will operate via Adams, State, Harrison, Franklin, back to Adams, then resume the regular route.

Westbound #14 Jeffrey Express, #20 Madison, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island and #124 Navy Pier buses will operate via Madison, Dearborn, Randolph, Wacker, back to Madison, then resume the regular route. Eastbound service will not be affected.

Southbound #22 Clark buses will operate via Clark, Monroe, State, Congress, back to Clark, then resume the regular route. Northbound service will not be affected.

Northbound #151 Sheridan buses will operate via Jackson, Franklin, Washington, back to State, then resume the regular route. Southbound buses will operate via Adams, Dearborn, Randolph, Wacker, back to Adams, then resume the regular route.

Additional Service Provided for Air and Water Show Saturday and Sunday CTA will provide additional service for the 46th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show this weekend along the lakefront from Oak Street Beach to Fullerton. Extra buses will be in service beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday on the #72 North and #151 Sheridan routes, which operate close to all the activities. To avoid traffic congestion, #72 North buses will travel as far as North/Clark instead of continuing east to North Avenue Beach.

Customers traveling on Metra may take #151 buses from Union Station and Randolph Street station to Oak Street and North Avenue Beaches. #151 buses are also within walking distance of the Ogilvie Transportation Center and the LaSalle Street Metra station.

Buses on the #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express and #147 Outer Drive Express routes operate to Michigan/Delaware, within walking distance of Oak Street Beach.

Longer trains will operate on the Blue, Brown, Orange and Green Lines beginning at 6:30 a.m. both days.

Additional Service Provided for Bears Pre-Season Game Saturday NightAdditional service will be provided on the #12 Roosevelt and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes serving Soldier Field for the Bears pre-season game against the San Francisco 49ers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

CTA's #128 Soldier Field Express route also will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the game. Additional service on all three routes will begin at 5 p.m. Service will continue until one hour after the game ends or as crowds warrant.

119th Street Bridge over I-57 Expressway Closes for Reconstruction Beginning MondayThe 119th Street bridge over I-57 will be closed at 9 a.m. Monday, August 23 until early December. Westbound #119 Michigan/119th buses will operate via 119th, Ashland, 115th, Marshfield, back to 119th, then resume the regular route. Eastbound buses will operate via 119th, Marshfield, 123rd, Ashland, back to 119th, then resume the regular route.
