Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project:
CTA is working to expand capacity on the Brown Line. When the work is completed, customers will benefit from longer trains during rush hour, and accessible, modern stations and platforms.
Throughout the Brown Line construction project, slow zones and single track operation are periodically necessary near construction activity so, as a general rule, rail customers should allow extra travel time.
Kimball and Francisco Stations to Temporarily Close Saturday Only
Both the Kimball and Francisco stations will temporarily close Saturday, April 8 for 26 hours changing previously announced plans for weekend single track operation. Normal Sunday service will resume at Kimball and Francisco on Sunday,
April 9.
During the Saturday closure of Kimball and Francisco, Brown Line trains will operate between the Loop and Western station. Bus shuttle service will be provided to customers free of charge from Western station to Kimball station from 4 a.m. Saturday, April 8 to 2:30 a.m. Sunday, April 9 as a substitute for rail service. The bus shuttle makes stops at the Western station, Rockwell and Lawrence, Sacramento and Lawrence, Kedzie and Lawrence, Kedzie and Wilson, and at the Kimball station.

Maintenance Temporarily Closes Northbound Platforms at Diversey and Wellington Saturday
Structural maintenance will temporarily close the northbound Diversey and Wellington platforms from 7 a.m. Saturday, April 8 until 3:30 a.m. Sunday, April 9.
As a result, during these hours, northbound Brown Line trains will not stop at the Diversey and Wellington stations. Northbound customers who wish to exit at these stations will need to travel to the Belmont station and transfer to a southbound Brown Line train back to those stations.
Northbound customers who wish to board at the Wellington or Diversey stations will need to board a southbound train and exit at Fullerton to board a northbound Brown Line train.
#10 Museum of Science & Industry Bus Extends Hours for Spring Break Service
To accommodate longer spring break hours at the Museum of Science and Industry, #10 Museum of Science & Industry buses will operate on weekdays every 15 to 30 minutes beginning Friday, April 7 until April 23. Regular weekday service normally operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Chicago Bridge over Chicago River Closes Friday
The Chicago Bridge over the Chicago River will temporarily close from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, April 7.
#66 Chicago buses will operate in both directions via Chicago to Halsted, Division, Crosby, Larrabee, back to Chicago, then resume the regular route.
Northbound Lake Shore Drive to Temporarily Close Over Weekend
Northbound Lake Shore Drive will temporarily close at 47th from 9 p.m. Saturday, April 8 until 5 a.m. Sunday, April 9.
#6 Jackson Park Express and #173 University of Chicago/Lakeview Express buses will operate via Lake Park to 47th, Cottage Grove, 39th to Lake Shore Drive, then resume the regular route. Southbound service is not affected.
Halsted Closes for Jackie Robinson West Little League Parade Sunday
Halsted will be closed between 107th and Morgan from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Sunday, April 9. The closure will affect buses on the #8A South Halsted and #108 Halsted/95th.
#8A and #108 buses will operate in both directions via Halsted to 103rd, Vincennes, 119th, back to Halsted, then resume the regular route.
Northbound Inner Lake Shore Drive to Temporarily Close Next Week
Northbound Inner Lake Shore Drive will temporarily close at Irving Park beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, April 10 until Tuesday, May 16. One southbound lane will remain open. The closure affects the #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express and the #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express bus routes. Northbound #135 and #145 buses will operate via Inner Lake Shore Drive to Sheridan, Pine Grove to Irving Park, then resume the regular route.
Northbound #146 buses will operate via Inner Lake Shore Drive to Sheridan, Pine Grove, Irving Park to Marine Drive, then resume the regular route.
Single Track on Blue Line Forest Park Branch Over Weekend
Single track service will be in effect between Pulaski and Cicero from 10 p.m. Friday, April 7 until 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, and again in the same location from 9 p.m. Saturday, April 8 until
1 p.m. Sunday, April 9 for maintenance work.
Late Night Single Track on Blue Line O'Hare Branch Sunday
Single track service will be in effect between Harlem and Cumberland from 10 p.m. Sunday, April 9 until 4 a.m. Monday, April 10 for maintenance work.
Single Track on Purple Line Over Weekend
Single track service will be in effect between South Boulevard and Dempster from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, April 8 and again in the same location, during the same hours, Sunday, April 9 for maintenance work on the Main Street viaduct.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
Red Line - Dan Ryan Branch Rehabilitation:
CTA is working to replace track, power and signal systems and upgrade stations along the branch. When the work is completed, customers will experience more reliable service and modern station amenities.
Late Night Single Track Over Weekend
Single track service will be in effect between 45th and Garfield from 11 p.m., Thursday, April 6 until 4 a.m. Friday, April 7 and again in the same location from 10 p.m., Friday, April 7 until
8 a.m. Saturday, April 8 and from 10 p.m. Saturday, April 8 until 10 a.m. Sunday, April 9.
Single track service will be in effect between 63rd and 69th from 10 p.m. Sunday, April 9 until 4 a.m. Monday, April 10.
Late Night Single Track Next Week
Single track service will be in effect between 69th and 79th from 11 p.m., Monday, April 10 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 11 and again in the same location, during the same hours each night Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Customers should allow extra travel time.
