Late Night Single Track for Eastbound Trains between UIC-Halsted and LaSalle
A late night single track will be in effect for eastbound Blue Line trains between the UIC-Halsted and LaSalle stations from 10 p.m. Saturday, April 24 until 7 a.m. the following morning due to sewer cleaning.
Eastbound Blue Line customers at the UIC-Halsted, Clinton and LaSalle stations must board and exit trains from the westbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Trains Undergo Late Night Single Track on the O’Hare Branch
Blue Line trains operating on the O’Hare branch will undergo late night single tracks beginning Sunday night, April 25 through Thursday night, April 29, due to sewer cleaning.
Sunday Night – Northbound at Belmont and Addison
From 10 p.m. Sunday, April 25 until 4 a.m. the following morning, northbound Blue Line customers at the Belmont and Addison station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Monday Night – Northbound at Belmont and Addison
From 11 p.m. Monday, April 26 until 4 a.m. the following morning, northbound Blue Line customers at the Belmont and Addison stations must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.

Tuesday Night – Northbound at Logan Square
From 11 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 until 4 a.m. the following morning, northbound Blue Line customers at the Logan Square station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.

Wednesday Night – Southbound at Logan Square
From 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 until 4 a.m. the following morning, southbound Blue Line customers at the Logan Square station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.

Thursday Night – Southbound at Addison and Belmont
From 11 p.m. Thursday, April 29 until 4 a.m. the following morning, southbound Blue Line customers at the Addison and Belmont stations must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.

Red Line – Other Events Affecting Service
Red Line Trains Undergo Late Night Single Track This Weekend and Next Week
Red Line trains operating along the 95th/Dan Ryan branch will undergo late night single tracks beginning Friday night, April 23 and then again next week beginning Monday night, April 26, while crews make station improvements.
Friday Night – Southbound at Garfield
From 11 p.m. Friday, April 23 until 4 a.m. the following morning, southbound Red Line customers at the Garfield station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Monday Night – Northbound at 69th
From 11 p.m. Monday, April 26 until 4 a.m. the following morning, northbound Red Line customers at the 69th Street station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Tuesday Night – Southbound at 69th
From 11 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 until 4 a.m. the following morning, southbound Red Line customers at the 69th Street station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time. CTA operators will announce the direction of each train.
Wednesday Night – Northbound at 87th
From 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 until 4 a.m. the following morning, northbound Red Line customers at the 87th Street station must board and exit trains from the southbound side of the platform.

Thursday Night – Southbound at 87th
From 11 p.m. Thursday, April 29 until 4 a.m. the following morning, southbound Red Line customers at the 87th Street station must board and exit trains from the northbound side of the platform.

Service for Upcoming Events
#19 United Center Express Serves Upcoming Playoff Games
CTA will operate its #19 United Center Express buses before and after the following playoff games for the Blackhawks and the Bulls:
- Saturday, April 24 at 2 p.m. – Nashville Predators versus Blackhawks*
- Sunday, April 25 at 2:30 p.m. – Cleveland Cavaliers versus Bulls
*only if needed
Buses will leave every 12-15 minutes from Michigan and Randolph beginning 90 minutes before the start of each event until the event begins. When the event ends, #19 buses will depart the United Center approximately every 15 minutes for one hour.
#19 buses no longer make stops along Michigan Avenue north of Randolph, but continue to make all stops on Madison from Wabash to Clinton. From Clinton, #19 buses run express to the United Center.
After each game, #19 buses will await customers on the north side of the United Center eastbound on Madison near Gate 3. On the return trip, #19 buses will operate east on Washington to Wacker, then head south to Monroe and east to Michigan, making all stops from Jefferson to Michigan before turning north on Michigan and making the final stop at Randolph.
New/Updated Changes in Bus Service
Temporary Removal of Bus Stop at Halsted/Lake
Currently in effect until Friday, May 21, the southbound near side stop at Halsted/Lake served by #8 Halsted buses temporarily has been removed from service due to nearby construction.
Race to Wrigley 5K Run Detours Four CTA Routes on Saturday
From 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 24, Addison Street between Racine and Ravenswood; Irving Park Road between Seminary and Ravenswood; and Clark Street between Irving Park and Addison will be closed for the Race to Wrigley 5K Run.
Northbound #9 Ashland buses will travel over the regular route along Ashland to Belmont then will operate via Belmont, Damen, Addison to Lincoln before turning to begin southbound service. From Addison/Lincoln, southbound #9 buses will travel southeast on Lincoln to Ashland then will operate south on Ashland over the regular route.
Southbound #22 Clark buses will operate over the regular route along Clark to Montrose then will travel via Montrose, Broadway, Halsted to Clark and resume the regular route. Northbound #22 buses will travel the reverse route.
Westbound #80 Irving Park buses will travel over the regular route along Irving Park to Sheridan then will operate via Sheridan, Montrose, Clark, Wilson, Damen to Irving Park and resume the regular route. Eastbound #80 buses will travel the reverse route.
Eastbound #152 Addison buses will operate over the regular route along Addison to Lincoln then will travel via Lincoln, Belmont, Sheffield to Addison and resume the regular route. Westbound #152 buses will travel the reverse route.
Chicago Dia de Los Ninos Parade Reroutes Buses on Saturday
From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, three CTA bus routes will be temporarily detoured for the Chicago Dia de Los Ninos Parade. Parade participants will assemble along Blue Island between 16th and 18th streets. The parade will proceed west on 18th to Damen and disband at Harrison Park.
Northbound #9 Ashland buses will travel over the regular route along Ashland to Cermak then will operate via Cermak, Racine, Roosevelt to Ashland and resume the regular route. Southbound #9 buses will travel the reverse route.
Eastbound #18 16th/18th buses will operate over the regular route along 18th Street to Damen then will travel via Damen to Roosevelt continuing east past Halsted and resume the regular route along Roosevelt. Westbound #18 buses will travel the reverse route.
Eastbound #60 Blue Island buses will travel over the regular route along Blue Island to Cermak then will operate via Cermak to Racine continuing north past 14th Street and resume the regular route along Racine. Westbound #60 buses will travel the reverse route.
The 2010 March of Dimes, March for Babies Walk Detours 14 Routes on Sunday
On Sunday, April 25 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., Columbus Drive between Roosevelt and Balbo will be closed for the 2010 March of Dimes, March for Babies 6 Mile Walk. Participants will assemble on Columbus between Roosevelt and Balbo beginning at 6 a.m.
The walk will start at 9 a.m. and participants will proceed north on Columbus to Monroe then will travel via Monroe, State (northbound lanes only), Wacker, Michigan (along the sidewalks) to Inner Lake Shore Drive (along the sidewalks) to the North Avenue pedestrian underpass to the Lakefront Path and south to Arvey Field.
During this time, buses operating along the following routes will be detoured to adjacent streets to maintain service during this event: #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express, #20 Madison, #29 State, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island/26th, #124 Navy Pier, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan.
Ravenswood 5K Run Detours Four CTA Bus Routes on Sunday
From 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 25, Wilson Avenue between Hermitage and Leavitt; Damen Avenue between Giddings and Leland; Leland Avenue between Damen and Paulina and the westbound lanes of Irving Park Road between Hermitage and Paulina will be closed for the Ravenswood 5K Run.
Northbound #50 Damen buses will operate over the regular route along Damen to Montrose then will travel via Montrose, Western, Lawrence then return to Damen and resume the regular route. Southbound #50 buses will travel the reverse route.
Eastbound #78 Montrose buses will travel over the regular route along Montrose to Western, Lawrence, Ashland to Wilson and resume the regular route east on Wilson past Clark. Westbound #78 buses will travel over the regular route along Wilson to Ashland then will operate via Ashland, Lawrence, Western to Montrose and resume the regular route.
Westbound #80 Irving Park buses will operate over the regular route along Irving Park to Ashland then will travel via Ashland, Addison, Damen to Irving Park and resume the regular route. Eastbound #80 buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
Northbound #145 Wilson/Michigan Express buses will travel over the regular route along Wilson to Clark then will operate via Clark, Lawrence, Ashland to Wilson before turning to begin southbound service. From Ashland/Wilson southbound #145 buses will travel east along Wilson over the regular route.
Hellenic Independence Day Parade Detours Three Routes on Sunday
From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 25, Halsted between Randolph and Van Buren will be closed for the Hellenic Independence Day Parade. The parade will step-off at 2:30 p.m. and proceed south on Halsted from Randolph to Van Buren and disband.
Northbound #8 Halsted buses will travel over the regular route along Halsted to Harrison then will operate via Harrison, Jefferson, Fulton to Halsted and then resume the regular route. Southbound #8 buses will travel over the regular route along Halsted to Fulton then will operate via Fulton, Desplaines, Harrison to Halsted and resume the regular route.
Eastbound #20 Madison buses will operate over the regular route along Madison to Racine then will travel via Racine, Lake, Desplaines to Washington and then resume the regular route. Westbound #20 buses will operate over the regular route along Madison to Jefferson then will travel via Jefferson, Lake, Racine to Madison and resume the regular route.
Eastbound #126 Jackson buses will travel over the regular route along Jackson to Racine then will operate via Racine, Harrison, Jefferson to Jackson and resume the regular route. Westbound #126 buses will travel over the regular route along Clinton past Van Buren to Harrison then will operate via Harrison, Racine to Van Buren and resume the regular route.
Ongoing Bus Reroutes
Railroad Crossing Repairs Reroute Buses
Currently in effect, 400 East 130th Street is closed to all vehicle traffic for railroad crossing repairs until Saturday, April 24. The #34 South Michigan and #108 Halsted buses that serve Carver High School will be rerouted.
Southbound #34 buses will travel over the regular route to Michigan/115th Street then will operate via 115th Street to Southbound I-94 Bishop Ford to westbound 130th, exit and travel to Eberhart to travel south over the regular route.
Northbound buses will travel the reverse route.
In addition a bus shuttle will be implemented during the reroute to maintain service on south Michigan Avenue between 115th and 127th Streets.
Southbound shuttle buses will operate south on Michigan from 111th Street, 126th Street, State, 127th Street to Michigan before turning to begin northbound service.
Northbound shuttle buses will leave from Michigan north of 127th Street and operate via Michigan, 115th Street, State, 111th Street to Michigan and then will travel south of Michigan over the shuttle route.
Southbound #108 Halsted buses serving Carver High School will travel over the regular route to Halsted/Vermont then will operate via Vermont, Lowe Terminal, 127th Street, Michigan, 115th Street, Bishop Ford Highway, to westbound 130th Street to Eberhart and then resume the regular route.
Northbound buses will operate over the regular route.
Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.
Temporary Removal of #66 Chicago Bus Stop
Currently in effect, the eastbound near side stop at Chicago/Clark served by #66 Chicago buses temporarily has been removed from service until Friday, April 30, due to construction.
Bus Stop Temporarily Relocated on North Pulaski
The far side bus stop at Belmont and Pulaski served by #53 Pulaski buses temporarily has been relocated to a near side stop until Friday, April 30.
#62 Archer Buses Undergo Reroute Due to Construction
Currently in effect, northbound #62 Archer buses are undergoing a reroute until Friday, April 30, due to the closure of Kinzie for curb and foundation removal.
Northbound buses will travel over the regular route to Dearborn/Kinzie then operate via Dearborn, Hubbard to State and then resume the regular route.
Southbound buses are not affected and will travel over the regular route.
Street Reconstruction Work Temporarily Detours #86 Narragansett/Ridgeland Buses
Currently in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, Lombard Avenue between Lake and South Boulevard is closed to all traffic due to street reconstruction work.
Southbound #86 Narragansett/Ridgeland buses are operating over the regular route along Lake to Lombard before turning to begin northbound service. Northbound #86 buses are departing from Lake/Lombard and traveling east on Lake to Humphrey then operating via Humphrey to South Boulevard and resuming the regular route west on South Boulevard past Lombard.
#53A South Pulaski Bus Stop at Pulaski/83rd Street Temporarily Relocated
Currently in effect until Friday, May 7, the northbound near side stop at Pulaski/83rd Street served by #53A South Pulaski buses has been relocated to a far side stop due to nearby construction.
Street Resurfacing Project Detours #17 Westchester Buses
Currently in effect until 6 a.m. Monday, May 10, Westchester Boulevard between Roosevelt and Canterbury is closed to all traffic due to a street resurfacing project.
Westbound #17 Westchester buses are traveling over the regular route along Westchester to Roosevelt then operating via Roosevelt, Mannheim, Canterbury to Balmoral before turning to begin eastbound service. Eastbound #17 buses are departing from Canterbury/Balmoral and traveling north on Balmoral and then over the regular route.
Sewer Construction Work Temporarily Detours #78 Montrose Buses
Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Friday, May 14, Montrose Avenue between Paulina and Greenview is closed to all traffic due to a sewer construction project.
Eastbound #78 Montrose buses are traveling over the regular route along Montrose to Damen then operating via Damen, Wilson and then resuming the regular route east on Wilson past Clark. Westbound #78 buses are traveling the reverse route.
Bridge Closure Temporarily Reroutes Two CTA Bus Routes
The Ewing Street Bridge over the Calumet River at 3331 East 92nd Street is closed to all traffic for bridge repairs until Friday, May 21. As a result, #26 South Shore Drive and #30 South Chicago buses are undergoing a temporary reroute.
Southbound #26 and #30 buses will travel over the regular route to 91st Street/Mackinaw then will operate via Mackinaw, Harbor, South Chicago, 95th Street to Ewing and then resume the regular route.
Northbound buses will travel over the regular route to Ewing/95th Street then will operate via 95th Street, South Chicago, Harbor, Mackinaw to 91st Street and then resume the regular route.
Temporary Relocation of #93 California/Dodge Bus Stop
Currently in effect until Thursday, May 27, the southbound curb lane of California Avenue at Granville is closed to all traffic due to construction. As a result of this lane closure, the southbound near side stop at California/Granville served by #93 California/Dodge buses temporarily has been relocated approximately 175 feet north.
#72 Bus Stop at North/Clybourn Red Line Station Temporarily Relocated Due to Construction
Currently in effect until Wednesday, June 30, the eastbound mid-block stop in front of the station that is served by #72 North Avenue buses temporarily has been relocated to a near side stop at the intersection of North/Clybourn. The relocation is due to construction at the North/Clybourn Red Line station.
In addition, a temporary far side stop at the North Avenue/Halsted intersection has been added. This stop will be served by #72 buses.
#81 Lawrence Bus Stops near the Kennedy Expressway Temporarily Eliminated
Currently in effect until Tuesday, August 31, the eastbound and westbound near side bus stops on Lawrence at LeClaire served by #81 Lawrence buses temporarily have been removed from service due rehabilitation work on the Lawrence Avenue viaduct.
#111 Pullman/111th/115th Buses Undergo Reroute Due to Bridge Repair Work
Currently in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday, October 31, the 111th Street Bridge over Interstate 57 (I-57) is closed to all traffic due to bridge and deck replacement work.
Southbound #111 Pullman/111th/115th buses are operating over the regular route along 111th Street to Marshfield then traveling via Marshfield, 112th Place, Hamlet to 111th Street and then resuming the regular route east on 111th Street.
Northbound #111 buses are traveling over the regular route along 111th Street to Throop then operating via Throop, 107th Street, Vincennes and then resuming the regular route south on Vincennes past 111th Street.
Temporary Removal of #126 Jackson Bus Stop at Jackson/Sangamon
Currently in effect until Friday, September 30, 2011, the eastbound far side stop at Jackson/Sangamon served by #126 Jackson buses temporarily will be removed from service due to nearby construction. Customers may board and exit eastbound #126 buses from either Jackson/Morgan or Jackson/Peoria.
Lane Restrictions near State and Grand Detour #29 State and #36 Broadway Buses
Due to lane restrictions associated with the Grand/State Red Line rehabilitation project at the northwest corner of State Street and Grand Avenue, #29 State and #36 Broadway buses are being detoured to adjacent streets until further notice.
Southbound #29 State buses are operating over the regular route along Grand past State to Clark then traveling via Clark, Illinois to State and resuming the regular route.
Northbound #29 buses are traveling along the remaining open lane along State and over the regular route.
Southbound #36 Broadway buses are traveling over the regular route along State to Ontario then operating via Ontario, Clark, Illinois to State and resuming the regular route. Northbound #36 buses are operating over the regular route along Dearborn past Illinois to Ohio then traveling via Ohio to State and resuming the regular route.
Service Adjustments Due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project
Due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project, several streets in the downtown area have been closed or reconfigured until Monday, April 2, 2012. As a result of these closures and reconfigurations, the following changes in service along three CTA bus routes currently are in effect:
#11 Lincoln/Sedgwick
Van Buren Street between Canal and Clinton has been reconfigured to accommodate westbound traffic only. As a result, the southbound near side bus stop at Van Buren/Canal served by #11 Lincoln/Sedgwick buses has been relocated to a far side stop.
#121 Union Wacker Express
Lower Wacker Drive between Harrison and Randolph is closed to all traffic due to the Congress/Wacker Construction Project. During this time #121 Union/Wacker Express buses are being detoured to adjacent streets.
Northbound #121 Union/Wacker Express buses are operating over the regular route along Jackson past Wacker to Franklin then are traveling via Franklin, Lake, Post Place to Lower Wacker and then resuming the regular route.
Southbound #121 buses are operating over the regular route along Lower Wacker to Randolph then are taking the exit ramp to Upper Randolph and traveling via Randolph, Clinton to Jackson and resuming the regular route.
#124 Navy Pier
Van Buren Street between Canal and Clinton has been reconfigured to accommodate westbound traffic only.
Westbound #124 Navy Pier buses are traveling over the regular route along Clinton past Van Buren to Harrison then are operating via Harrison to Canal and resuming the regular route north on Canal. Eastbound #124 buses are not affected and are traveling over the regular route.
