Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Friday Through Next Thursday Due to the rehabilitation of the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 35th and 47th Streets from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday and from 8 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.
Single track service will be in effect southbound between Cermak-Chinatown and 63rd Street from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, April 26 and northbound in the same location Tuesday night, April 27 through Thursday night, April 29.
Customers should allow additional travel time during these times.
Red Line By-Pass Tracks in ServiceDue to the Dan Ryan Red Line construction, by-pass tracks are in place between 87th and 84th Streets through the second week of May.
By-pass tracks also are in place between 67th and 71st Streets until late May.
Customers will continue to board trains at their normal station locations.
63rd Street Closed for Sewer Repairs63rd Street is closed at Peoria for sewer repairs from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. today and Friday, April 23. #63 63rd buses are operating in both directions via 63rd Parkway, Halsted, back to 63rd then resume the regular route.
55th Street Closes for Metra Viaduct Construction Beginning Monday55th Street will be closed eastbound only between State and LaSalle beginning Monday, April 26 through Thursday, April 29 and again Monday, May 10 and Tuesday, May 11 for construction work on a Metra Rock Island viaduct. Eastbound #55 Garfield and #X55 Garfield Express buses will operate via 55th, Wentworth, 51st, State, back to 55th then resume the regular route. Westbound service and service to the Garfield Red Line station will not be affected.
Grand Closes for Construction Beginning MondayGrand will be closed eastbound only between Fullerton and Narragansett for approximately six weeks, beginning Monday, April 26 while Grand is reconstructed. Eastbound #65 Grand buses will operate via Grand, Fullerton, Narragansett, back to Grand then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.
