Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of April 22 - 24

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekDue to track maintenance on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between 33rd and 45th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, April 25 and Tuesday night, April 26. Single track service also will be in effect during those same hours southbound between 23rd and 33rd Streets Wednesday night, April 27 and Thursday night, April 28. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Brown Line Friday and SaturdayDue to track maintenance on the Brown Line, single track service will be in effect southbound between Kimball and Albany from 8 p.m. Friday, April 22 until 8 a.m. Saturday, April 23 and again from 8 p.m. Saturday, April 23 until 8 a.m. Sunday, April 24. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Additionally, as part of this work, the exit at the west end of the Kedzie platform at Spaulding will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, April 22 until 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23 and again from 8 p.m. Saturday, April 23 until 8 a.m. Sunday, April 24.

Spaulding and Albany Temporarily Close for Brown Line WorkAs part of the rehabilitation of the Brown Line, Spaulding and Albany will be closed between Leland and Eastwood from 8 p.m. Friday, April 22 until 8 a.m. Saturday, April 23 and again from 8 p.m. Saturday, April 23 until 8 a.m. Sunday, April 24. These closures will not affect CTA service.

Wells and Wentworth Close for Repairs Friday NightWells and Wentworth will be closed between 51st and 59th Streets from 9 p.m. Friday, April 22 until 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23. Southbound #59 59th buses will operate via Wells, 51st, State, 59th, back to Wells, then resume the regular route. Northbound buses will operate via Wentworth, 59th, State, 51st, back to Wentworth, then resume the regular route.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line for Subway Sewer Cleaning Friday and SaturdaySingle track service will be in effect northbound between Grand and Damen from 10 p.m. Friday, April 22 until 6 a.m. Saturday, April 23 and again from 10 p.m. Saturday, April 23 until 6 a.m. Sunday, April 24. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

?March of Dimes Walk America? Causes Detours on 14 Bus Routes Sunday MorningColumbus will be closed between Roosevelt and Balbo from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. and northbound State will be closed between Monroe and Wacker from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. for the ?March of Dimes Walk America 6 Mile Walk? Sunday. Buses on the #3 King Drive, #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #14 Jeffery Express and #146 Inner Drive/ Michigan Express that ordinarily operate via Columbus/Balbo will be detoured to Michigan/Roosevelt from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Buses on the #20 Madison, #29 State, #56 Milwaukee, #60 Blue Island, #124 Navy Pier, #145 Wilson/Michigan Express, #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan routes will be detoured to adjacent streets from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. as the walkers proceed from Columbus/9th to State/Wacker. Once walkers arrive at State/Wacker, they will use sidewalks for the duration of the walk and normal service on these bus routes will resume.

Montrose Closes for Repairs to Brown Line Structure SundayMontrose will be closed between Ravenswood and Wolcott from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, April 24. #78 Montrose buses will operate in both directions via Montrose, Damen, Wilson, Ashland, back to Montrose, then resume the regular route.

Additional Bus and Rail Service Operates for Cubs Night Games Beginning MondayAdditional bus and rail service will be provided for weeknight Cubs games beginning Monday, April 25. On game nights, southbound Purple Line Express trains will stop at Addison enroute to downtown from Linden and Yellow Line trains will operate two hours later (until midnight) from Howard.

Additional service will be provided on the #152 Addison route as crowds warrant, starting two hours before game time and operating until one hour after games end.

Another option is the #154 Wrigley Field Express that provides direct service to Wrigley Field from parking lots at DeVry University on Rockwell, a quarter-mile west of Western and a quarter-mile south of Addison, for fans who prefer to drive part of the way to the games. Service begins three hours before each game and runs until one hour after night games end, and two hours after weekend games end. A $6 fee includes parking at DeVry and round-trip bus transit for a carload of fans.

?Ravenswood 5K Run? Causes Bus Detours Sunday MorningFour CTA bus routes will be detoured from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday for the ?Ravenswood 5K Run." Participants will assemble at Hermitage/Wilson and proceed west on Wilson to Leavitt, north to Giddings, east to Damen, south to Leland, east to Paulina, south to Irving Park, west to Hermitage and north to the finish line at Wilson. #50 Damen buses will operate in both directions via Damen, Montrose, Western, Lawrence, back to Damen, then resume the regular route.

#78 Montrose buses will operate in both directions via Montrose, Damen, Addison, Ashland, back to Montrose, then resume the regular route.

#80 Irving Park buses will operate in both directions via Irving Park, Damen, Addison, Ashland, back to Irving Park, then resume the regular route.

Eastbound #145 Wilson/Michigan buses will operate via Lawrence, Ashland to Wilson, then resume the regular route. Westbound service will not be affected.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Three Northbound Red Line Platforms Beginning SundayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place each night from Sunday, April 24 through Thursday, April 28. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville stations from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. During these hours, customers wishing to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Loyola station and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

63rd Street Closes for CSX Railroad Viaduct Repairs Beginning Monday63rd Street will be closed westbound only between Damen and Western from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays only from Monday, April 25 until Friday, June 24.Westbound #63 63rd buses will operate via 63rd, Damen, 59th, Western, back to 63rd, then resume the regular route. Eastbound service will not be affected.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on the Lake Street Branch of the Green Line Next WeekSingle track service will be in effect on the Lake Street branch of the Green Line westbound between Laramie and Austin from 10 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. each night from Monday, April 25 through Thursday, April 28. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Jeffery Closed for Sewer Construction Jeffery is closed between 87th and 93rd Streets through July 15. #14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses are operating in both directions via Jeffery, 93rd, Stony Island, 87th, back to Jeffery then resuming the regular route.

Lake Red Line Subway Entrance Temporarily Closed for RenovationsThe Lake Street station entrance to the Red Line is closed and is only available as an exit from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed at all other times until late May. Customers are encouraged to use the adjacent Red Line subway station at Washington and to allow extra travel time.

Trains continue to stop at the Lake subway station during weekday hours.Customers wishing to exit at the north end of the Lake station should walk north and use the newly renovated stairway. They also may enter and exit at the Randolph/Washington exit at the south end of the station.
