Events Affecting CTA Service Beginning the Weekend of April 15 - 17

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Red Line Next WeekDue to track maintenance on the Dan Ryan branch of the Red Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between 63rd and 55th Streets from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. Monday night, April 18 and Tuesday night, April 19 and southbound in the same location during the same hours Wednesday night, April 20 and Thursday night, April 21. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Brown Line Friday and SaturdayDue to track maintenance on the Brown Line, single track service will be in effect northbound between Albany and Kimball from 8 p.m. Friday, April 15 until 8 a.m. Saturday, April 16 and again from 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16 until 8 a.m. Sunday, April 17. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Spaulding and Albany Temporarily Close for Brown Line WorkAs part of the rehabilitation of the Brown Line, Spaulding and Albany will be closed between Leland and Eastwood from 8 p.m. Friday, April 15 until 8 a.m. Saturday, April 16 and again from 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16 until 8 a.m. Sunday, April 17. These closures will not affect CTA service.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line for Subway Sewer Cleaning Friday and SaturdaySingle track service will be in effect northbound between Grand and Damen from 10 p.m. Friday, April 15 until 6 a.m. Saturday, April 16 and again from 10 p.m. Saturday, April 16 until 6 a.m. Sunday, April 17. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Armitage Station Platform and Stairway Temporarily Close for Maintenance on SundayThe southbound platform and stairway at the Armitage station on the Brown Line will temporarily be closed from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 17. As a result, southbound trains will not stop at Armitage. Customers traveling south to Armitage are encouraged to travel to Sedgwick and transfer to a northbound train back to Armitage. Northbound service will not be affected.

Overnight Track Maintenance Temporarily Closes Three Northbound Red Line Platforms Beginning SundayTrack maintenance on the north end of the Red Line will take place each night from Sunday, April 17 through Thursday, April 21. As a result, northbound trains will not stop at the Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Granville stations from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. During these hours, customers wishing to exit at those stations will need to travel to the Loyola station and transfer to southbound trains back to those stations. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Late Night Single Track in Effect on Forest Park Branch of the Blue Line SundayDue to track maintenance, single track service will be in effect southbound from 9 p.m. Sunday, April 17 until 4:30 a.m. Monday, April 18. Customers may experience minimal travel delays and should allow extra travel time.

Jeffery Closed for Sewer Construction Jeffery is closed between 87th and 93rd Streets through July 15. #14 Jeffery Express and #15 Jeffery Local buses are operating in both directions via Jeffery, 93rd, Stony Island, 87th, back to Jeffery then resuming the regular route.

Lake Red Line Subway Entrance Temporarily Closed for RenovationsThe Lake Street station entrance to the Red Line temporarily is closed from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights, and from 9 p.m. Friday night through 5 a.m. Monday morning until late summer 2005. During these hours trains will not stop at this station. Customers are encouraged to use the adjacent Red Line subway station at Washington and to allow extra travel time.

Trains continue to stop at the Lake subway station during weekday hours.Customers wishing to exit at the north end of the Lake station should walk north and use the newly renovated stairway. They also may enter and exit at the Randolph/Washington exit at the south end of the station.

69th Street Closed for CSX Railroad Viaduct Repairs 69th Street is closed between Hamilton and Bell through Friday, April 15. #67 67th/69th/71st buses are operating in both directions via 69th, Damen, Marquette, Western, to 71st, then resuming the regular route.

Bridge Repairs and Testing for the Upcoming Boating Season Continue Next WeekThe Halsted bridge over the North Branch Canal of the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 18 until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19. The closure will affect buses on the #8 Halsted route.

The Division bridge over the North Branch main channel of the Chicago River will be closed from 11 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 20. The closure will affect buses on the #70 Division route.

The Halsted bridge over the North Branch main channel of the Chicago River will be closed from 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21 until 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 22. The closure will affect buses on the #8 Halsted route.

The North Avenue bridge over the North Branch of the Chicago River will be closed from 11 p.m. Thursday, April 21 until 5 a.m. Friday, April 22. The closure will affect buses on the #72 North route.
