Elevator Temporarily Out of Service at the 203 N. LaSalle Entrance to Clark/Lake

May 18, 2010
Beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 19 until Friday, July 2, the elevator at the 203 N. LaSalle entrance of the Loop elevated Clark/Lake station temporarily will be out of service while crews upgrade the equipment.

As a result, this entrance will not be accessible to customers with disabilities. Customers who do not need elevator access can use the stairs or escalators to reach the elevated or subway platforms.

Customers who need elevator access to the Brown and Green line elevated trains or Blue Line subway trains from the Clark/Lake station have the following travel options:

Blue Line

Customers will need to use the Thompson Center entrance to access the concourse level and Blue Line subway trains.

Brown Line

Brown Line customers who need elevator access are advised to board and exit trains from the Merchandise Mart or Washington/Wells stations. From Washington/Wells, customers can board an Orange Line train and exit at Clark/Lake.

If boarding at the Clark/Lake station, customers will need to use the Thompson Center entrance to board a Pink Line train and then transfer at the Library station to a Brown Line train.

Green Line

Green Line customers traveling to Harlem/Lake are advised to board and exit trains at the Clinton/Lake station, or board a Pink Line train at Clark/Lake (via the Thompson Center entrance) and transfer to a westbound Green Line train at Clinton.

Customers are advised to allow extra travel time.

To check the status of elevators across the CTA rail system, customers can call the elevator status hotline at 1-888-YOUR-CTA, wait for prompts to begin, then press 5 and then 2.
