Don’t Get Sidelined in Traffic, Take the CTA to Cheer on the Bears This Season

The Chicago Transit Authority offers convenient service to Bears’ games at Soldier Field during the 2011-2012 season, starting with the home opener on Sunday, September 11 versus the Atlanta Falcons. Kickoff is at noon.  
 
Supplemental service will be provided on the #128 Soldier Field Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express. #128 Soldier Field Express buses will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field for the convenience of Bears fans.
 
Before the game, #128 buses leave stations starting two hours before game time until one hour after kickoff. For Sunday's home opener, service will operate from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. After the game, buses will leave Soldier Field every few minutes for one hour. 
 
Buses at Union Station will board at the far side stop eastbound on Jackson/Riverside (one block east of Canal), then travel east on Jackson to Columbus making a stop at Columbus/11th Street before proceeding to Lake Shore Drive and exiting at 18th Street.
 
Buses at Ogilvie Station will board at the near side stop on Clinton/Madison, then travel south on Clinton to Jackson to Columbus, making a stop at Columbus/11th Street before proceeding to Lake Shore Drive and exiting at 18th.
 
The cash fare for #128 buses is $1 for full-fare customers and 50 cents for reduced-fare customers.  The exact cash is required. Customers who use CTA fare media on the #128 will be charged a regular CTA bus fare.
 
#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express will operate additional buses to Soldier Field every few minutes for two hours before the start of the game and one hour after game's end.  
 
CTA’s Red, Orange and Green line trains also provide a convenient connection to Soldier Field via the Roosevelt station at Roosevelt and State, a few blocks west of the stadium. CTA Customer Assistants will be on hand at the Roosevelt Green and Orange Line elevated and Red Line subway stations to assist fans.
 
Bus customers who use CTA fare media pay $2. For rail customers or customers who pay cash on the bus (excluding the #128), the fare is $2.25. Customers who use magnetic strip cards or other CTA fare media may transfer for a 25-cent fee. Transfers are not available for customers paying fares in cash. For information on all CTA service call 312-836-7000.
