Service includes a Pink Line reroute on June 1 and June 2, plus closure of the east Bus Lane at Howard Red Line Terminal, beginning Monday, June 3
There are plenty of activities around Chicago as we enter June and CTA is the best way to get to them. For example, need another great reason to take CTA to the Cubs game? Limos, ride-hailing vehicles and taxis will be restricted from picking up and dropping off passengers in close proximity to Wrigley Field in order to reduce traffic congestion.
Event service/extra service
Wrigley Field:
- Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs – Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, at 7:05 p.m.
- Rail: Red Line and Yellow Line
- Bus: Extra service for Cubs game days on #80 Irving Park and #152 Addison
United Center:
- Ariana Grande concert – Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, at 8 p.m.
- Bus: Extra service on #19 United Center Express and #50 Damen
CTA recommends allowing plenty of travel time and purchasing fares and unlimited-ride passes in advance. More information is below about purchasing fares.
Pink Line Reroute – June 1 and June 2
The Pink Line will be rerouted from Polk to the Racine Blue Line station on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, in order to do work as part of the FastTracks program. There will be no Pink Line service east of Polk, during these times.
Customers traveling to/from the Loop are encouraged to use the Racine Blue Line stop or the Green Line via the #9 Ashland, which connects the Polk Pink Line station and Ashland Green/Pink line station. See here for more project details.
Closure of East Bus Lane at Howard Red Line Terminal – June 3
Beginning Monday, June 3 at 9 a.m., the east bus lane at the Howard Red Line Terminal will be closed for approximately one week for pavement repair.
Customers are encouraged to board the #22 Clark, #97 Skokie, #201 Central/Ridge, #206 Evanston Circulator, and Pace #213 Green Bay Road on the north side of Howard Street, west of Paulina Street and the bus terminal driveway, approximately 70 feet from the intersection. For your safety, please use crosswalks to cross Howard and Paulina.
Note: The west lane boarding locations will not change—the following routes continue to board in the same place: #147 Outer Drive Express, Pace #215 Crawford-Howard, and Pace #290 Touhy Avenue.
