CTA's #10 Museum of Science & Industry buses, which operate from North Michigan Avenue and State Street downtown directly to the popular museum at 57th and Lake Shore Drive, will resume weekday service from Friday, November 24, through Friday, December 29.
#10 buses serve the museum year-round on weekends and holidays, and run daily from the Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and again from the day after Thanksgiving through New Year's Day. There will be no service on Christmas Day.
Starting southbound on Michigan from Delaware just before 9 a.m., #10 buses will operate every 30 minutes until about 5 p.m. on weekdays, and every 15 minutes on weekends and holidays.
During the holiday season, return trips from the museum begin at 9:40 a.m. and continue until 5:40 p.m. both on weekdays and on weekends/holidays.
Along North Michigan Avenue, #10 buses make all regular stops south from Chicago to Wacker Drive, where they go west to State and south to Congress. After returning to Michigan at Congress, the buses enter Grant Park at Balbo and stop for the lakefront Museum Campus at Roosevelt before running express via Lake Shore Drive directly to the Museum of Science & Industry in Jackson Park.
Also serving the museum daily are #55 Garfield buses, which operate from the Midway Orange Line terminal via Cicero, 55th and Garfield before reaching the museum from Hyde Park Boulevard. Both #10 and #55 buses are fully accessible to persons with disabilities, and stop for the museum a short distance away from an elevator-equipped kiosk entrance.
Buses on two other CTA routes serve the museum from Hyde Park Boulevard at 56th Street; #6 Jeffery Express buses, which operate daily from State Street downtown, and #1 Indiana/Hyde Park buses that run weekdays east on Jackson from Union Station and make local stops south via Michigan, 51st and Hyde Park.
