Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Green Line Service

  • On Sat. 7/8 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sun. 7/9 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., rail service between the Loop and the 35th-Brozeville-IIT station will be temporarily suspended. More details regarding work on Saturday (HERE) and Sunday (HERE).
  • The Green Line will operate in two sections, between Harlem/Lake and the outer Loop and between 35th-Brozeville-IIT and Ashland/63rd as well as 63rd/Cottage Grove.
  • There will be no Green Line service from the Loop toward Roosevelt and the South Side.
  • Customers can take a train to the Harold Washington Library-State/Van Buren station to transfer to free shuttle buses south to 35th-Bronzeville-IIT.
  • Shuttle buses will operate in both directions between Harold Washington Library-State/Van Buren and 35th-Brozeville-IIT, stopping near Roosevelt/Wabash and Cermak-McCormick Place.
  • Red Line trains can be used as an alternative by taking a 95th-bound train south to Sox-35th station and transfer free to the Green Line at the 35th-Bronzeville-IIT station (about a one block walk east between the two stations).
  • Service changes are due to track maintenance work occurring this weekend.
