CTA will bring Chicago a little closer to summer over Mother's Day weekend when its #130 Grant Park Treasures buses resume service from the Ogilvie Transportation Center (North Western Station) and Union Station directly to the city's lakefront museums. The buses will operate Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from Saturday, May 13 through Labor Day, Monday, September 4.

The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium are among the cultural attractions served by #130 buses. Others are the Art Institute, the Spertus Museum of Judaica (closed Saturdays), the Museum of Contemporary Photography (closed Sundays), and the crown jewel of Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain.

#130 buses begin their trips in front of the Ogilvie Center westbound on Madison just west of Canal. After turning south on Clinton, the buses stop for Union Station eastbound on Jackson at Canal. Continuing east on Jackson to Michigan, the buses go south to Balbo and east into Grant Park en route to the lakefront museums.

Riders can transfer to fully accessible #130 buses from the Blue Line subway on Jackson at Dearborn, the Red Line subway at State, and from Brown Line trains (Saturdays only until July 16) using the Library-State/Van Buren 'L' station one block south of Jackson at State. Customers using Orange Line trains can transfer to #130 buses from the 'L' at Library-State/Van Buren, and from Green Line trains at the Adams/Wabash station. Orange and Green Line customers can also use the 'L' station at Roosevelt and transfer to #12 Roosevelt buses or walk east to the Museum Campus.

#130 buses run every 15 minutes, with trips from the Ogilvie Center starting at 9:35 a.m. on Saturdays and 10:35 a.m. on Sundays and holidays. Return trips from the Adler Planetarium begin 30 minutes later, with the last bus leaving at 6:05 p.m.

The lakefront museums are also served daily by CTA's #12 Roosevelt buses, operating east and west on Roosevelt, and by #146 Marine/Michigan buses, which stop along Michigan Avenue north of the Chicago River and serve State Street downtown.
