Two Parades Detour Bus Lines Off Columbus Saturday, September 9Buses on the #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science and Industry and #146 Marine/Michigan Express routes will be detoured to Michigan between Balbo and Roosevelt for the Von Steuben and Mexican Independence Day Parades that will close Columbus from Monroe to Balbo until about 4 p.m. Saturday, September 9.
Five Bus Lines Detoured Around Parade on 26th Sunday, September 10
The Mexican Independence Day Parade will close 26th Street between California and Kostner from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, September 10, detouring five CTA bus lines. #52 Kedzie-California buses will operate via Kedzie, Cermak, Western, 35th, California and 36th to Kedzie in both directions. #53 Pulaski buses will operate south only to Cermak before turning back for northbound trips. #60 Blue Island-26th buses will use Cermak instead of 26th between Western and Cicero. #82 Kimball-Homan buses will end their southbound trips on Central Park at Cermak before turning back north. Southbound #94 South California buses will use California Boulevard from 24th to 30th before returning to California Avenue.
Chicago Half Marathon Sunday Affects Five Bus Lines in Hyde Park
Traffic in and around Washington and Jackson Parks will be affected by the Chicago Half Marathon from early morning until midday Sunday, September 10. Delays can be expected on the #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science and Industry, #28 Stony Island and #55 Garfield bus routes.
Washington Reopens to Traffic at Michigan Monday, September 11
Construction on Washington at Michigan will end Monday, September 11, allowing #147 Outer Drive Express and #151 Sheridan buses to return to their regular routing. Northbound buses will make their last stop on State at Madison before turning east on Washington and heading north on Michigan.
Howard Reopens from Ridge to Kedzie Monday, September 11
Construction on Howard between Ridge and Kedzie will end Monday, September 11, allowing buses on the #93 North California, #97 Skokie and #204 Dodge routes to return to their regular routes using Howard through this area.
Grade Crossing Construction Closes Ashland at 89th September 13-20
#9 Ashland buses will be detoured for one week starting Wednesday, September 13, via Ashland, 87th, Vincennes and 95th back to Ashland in both directions.
