CTA SERVICE AFFECTED BY EVENTS WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 13-16

Cable Installation Affects Weekend O'Hare Branch Blue Line Service
Starting at midnight Friday, October 13, and continuing until about 2 a.m. Monday, October 16, Blue Line trains will operate on a revised schedule while fiber optic cables are installed along portions of the right-of-way. During this period, trains will use a single track between the Montrose and Harlem stations. Customers will board trains in both directions from the existing island platform at each location. The work will continue on weekends until mid-November.

Extra Service for Northwestern-Purdue Game in Evanston Saturday
Longer trains will operate on the Purple Line for the 11 a.m. game Saturday, October 14, at Ryan Field between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Purdue Boilermakers. Purple Line trains stop near Ryan Field at the Central Street station. Connections can be made to Purple Line trains from the Red Line at Howard. Extra Customer Assistants will serve fans returning to trains at the Central Street station after the game.

Haunted 'L' Train Operates Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15
CTA's Haunted 'L' train will make trips around the Loop Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15, starting from the Randolph/Wabash inner Loop 'L' station. The 40-minute Haunted 'L' train tours will begin at 11:35 a.m. and at 12:15, 12:55 and 1:35 p.m. both days. Tickets for the tours are free, but must be obtained from the Chicago Cultural Center Visitor Information Center, 77 E. Randolph, on the same day the trip is taken. The train will also operate Thursday at 7, 7:40 and 8:20 p.m.

Extra Service for Bears-Vikings Game at 7:20 p.m. Sunday Evening
Extra #146 Marine/Michigan buses will supplement regular service to Soldier Field southbound on State from Kinzie, starting at 5 p.m. Sunday, October 15, for the 7:20 p.m. game between the Bears and the Vikings. #128 Soldier Field Express buses will serve Soldier Field directly from the Ogilvie Transportation Center (North Western Station) and Union Station, and extra #12 Roosevelt buses will go there from the accessible 'L'-subway stations at Roosevelt east of State that are served by Red, Green and Orange Line trains.
