Five CTA Bus Lines Serving Illinois Center Detoured through November 16Until 2 p.m. Thursday, November 16, buses on the #4 Cottage Grove, #6 Jeffery Express, #20 Madison, #122 Illinois Center/NorthWestern Express and #123 Illinois Center/Union Express routes will serve Illinois Center via Randolph and Columbus instead of using Wacker or South Water east of Michigan.
Cable Installation Affects Weekend O'Hare Branch Blue Line Service Starting at midnight Friday, November 10, and continuing until about 2 a.m. Monday, November 13, Blue Line trains will operate on a revised schedule while fiber optic cables are installed along portions of the right-of-way. Trains will use a single track between Damen and the LaSalle/Congress subway station.
Concerts and Circus Served by #19 United Center Express Buses The Dixie Chicks and Joe Ely concert at the United Center at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, November 12, and performances of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus November 14 - 28 will be served by #19 United Center Express buses. #19 buses begin their trips southbound on Michigan from Chicago two hours before the start of each performance, operating every 12 minutes until 30 minutes before show time. The buses stop on Michigan at Illinois and Randolph before turning west on Madison. After making stops on Madison at State, Wells and Clinton the buses operate express to the United Center. Return trips start eastbound on Madison at Gate 3.
Two Bus Lines Detoured Around UIC Pavilion Monday AfternoonHarrison Street will be closed between Halsted and Loomis from 4 p.m. until late Monday, November 13, for an event at the UIC Pavilion. #7 Harrison buses will operate eastbound via Loomis and Jackson. Westbound #7 buses will use Van Buren to Loomis before returning to Harrison. Loopbound #60 Blue Island/26th buses will leave Racine at Taylor, go east to Halsted, and north to the regular route at Harrison. Outbound buses will make the same detour in reverse.
