CTA SERVICE AFFECTED BY EVENTS STARTING THE WEEKEND OF MAY 11 - 13

Red Line Subway Affected by Overnight Signal Renewal Work May 11-12Signal renewal work in the Red Line subway will require trains to operate over the southbound track in both directions around the station at North/Clybourn from 9 p.m. Friday, May 11, until 6 a.m. Saturday, May 12. From 8 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, May 13, similar work will require Red Line trains to use the southbound track while serving the Grand, Chicago and Clark/Division stations. The work will have little impact on service. Regular schedules will be maintained.

Y-Me Race Detours Buses Off Columbus Sunday, May 13Columbus Drive in Grant Park will be closed between Roosevelt and Balbo Sunday, May 13, until about 1 p.m. for the Y-Me Race Against Breast Cancer. During this period, #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #130 Grant Park Treasures and #146 Marine/Michigan buses will be detoured in both directions from Columbus to Michigan between Roosevelt and Balbo.

Nighttime Canopy and Track Work Affect Orange Line Service May 14-18Nighttime work on the canopy over the inner Loop tracks on Wells at Randolph will require Orange Line trains to use the outer Loop tracks from 8 p.m. until midnight Monday, May 14, through Friday, May 18. During this period, Orange Line trains will make their first Loop stop northbound at Adams/Wabash. They will then make all regular station stops at platforms opposite the ones they usually serve as they operate north on Wabash, west on Lake, south on Wells and east on Van Buren back to Wabash for trips south to Midway.

Track work near the south end of the route will require all Orange Line trains to use the same track from 9:30 p.m. until service ends just after midnight, from Monday, May 14, through Thursday, May 17. On Monday and Tuesday nights the trains will use the Loopbound track in both directions while serving the Kedzie station. On Wednesday and Thursday nights the trains will use the same track while serving the Pulaski station. Regular schedules will be maintained.
