Wacker Drive Construction Detours 12 Bus Lines Starting late FridayTwelve CTA bus lines are being detoured for the Wacker Drive reconstruction project that begins Friday night. They are the #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jeffery Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #24 Wentworth, #29 State, #36 Broadway, #37 Sedgwick/Ogden, #62 Archer, #122 Illinois Center/North Western Express, #123 Illinois Center/Union Express, #125 Water Tower Express and #146 Marine/Michigan Express. Informational notices have been posted on buses and at the affected bus stops.
Structural Work At Western/O'Hare Blue Line Station February 23 - 25Structural work at the Western Avenue station on the O'Hare branch of the Blue Line will affect Blue Line service from midnight Friday, February 23 through midnight Sunday, February 25. Trains will operate alternately in both directions using the same track while serving the Damen and Western stations, and will run every 15 minutes in each direction throughout the day. Customers should allow extra travel time for their trips.
Detours Start Monday for Three Bus Lines Northbound from 47th Starting Monday, February 26, the reconstruction of Lake Shore Drive at 47th will detour northbound #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jeffery Express and #173 University of Chicago/Lakeview Express buses for about three months. Instead of entering Lake Shore at 47th, northbound buses will make their last local stops on Lake Park at 47th before operating express via 47th, Cottage Grove and Oakwood (3946 South) to Lake Shore for trips downtown. No stops will be made along the detoured routing. Southbound service will not be affected.
CTA Buses Serve Soldier Field for Football Game Saturday NightSoldier Field will be served by extra CTA buses Saturday night starting about two hours before the 7 p.m. XFL football game between the Chicago Enforcers and New York/New Jersey Hitmen. Shuttle buses will supplement regular service on the #12 Roosevelt route from the fully accessible Red, Green and Orange Line 'L' stations at Roosevelt. Extra #146 Marine/Michigan buses will operate south on State from Lake. #128 Soldier Field Express buses will provide direct service from the Ogilvie Transportation Center (North Western Station) from a stop westbound on Madison between Canal and Clinton, and from Union Station eastbound on Jackson at Canal before making express trips to Soldier Field.
