Cable Installation Affects Weekend O'Hare Branch Blue Line Service Starting at midnight Friday, October 27, and continuing until about 2 a.m. Monday, October 30, Blue Line trains will operate on a revised schedule while fiber optic cables are installed along portions of the right-of-way. Trains will use a single track from Foster to Nagle, which is in an area between the Jefferson Park and Harlem stations. Customers will board trains in either direction at the regular location at each station.
Haunted 'L' Train Operates Saturday and Sunday, October 28 ? 29CTA's Haunted 'L' train will make trips around the Loop Saturday and Sunday, October 28-29, starting form the Randolph/Wabash inner Loop 'L' station. The 40-minute Haunted 'L' train tours will begin at 11:35 a.m. and at 12:15, 12:55 and 1:35 p.m. both days. Tickets for the tours are free, but must be obtained from the Chicago Cultural Center Visitor Information Center, 77 E. Randolph, on the same day the trip is taken.
Reconstruction Closes UIC-Halsted Blue Line Station Entrance at Halsted The Halsted entrance to the UIC-Halsted station will close at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 30, for reconstruction to provide accessible features similar to those built into the entrance at Morgan (1000 West), which was reopened September 24th. While the Halsted entrance is closed, customers can use the escalator and stairway entrance at Peoria (900 West) to connect to #8 Halsted buses on Halsted at Harrison or Van Buren. #7 Harrison and #60 Blue Island/26th buses can be boarded on Harrison at either Peoria or Morgan.
