Crane Operation Detours Buses Off Madison East of State Over WeekendBuses on the CTA's #19 United Center Express, #20 Madisonand #56 Milwaukee lines will be detoured from 7 p.m. Friday, November 3, until about 5:30 a.m. on Monday, November 6, while Madison is closed between Wabash and State to allow a crane to operate in the area. Outbound buses on the #19 and #56 routes will be detoured off Michigan via Randolph and State before returning to the regular route at Madison. #20 buses ending their trips downtown will turn north from Washington at Michigan, go west on Randolph and south on State before resuming trips west on Madison.
Cable Installation Affects Weekend O'Hare Branch Blue Line Service Starting at 1 a.m. Saturday, November 4, and continuing until about noon Sunday, November 5, Blue Line trains will operate on a revised schedule while fiber optic cables are installed along portions of the right-of-way. Trains will use a single track from Harlem to Rosemont. Customers will board trains in either direction on the same side of the island platform at each station.
Purple Line Trains Serve Northwestern-Michigan Game SaturdayLonger trains will operate on the Purple Line for the 2:30 p.m. football game Saturday, November 4, at Ryan Field in Evanston between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Michigan Wolverines. Red Line riders can transfer at Howard to Purple Line trains that stop near Ryan Field at Central Street. Extra Customer Assistants will serve fans returning to the Central Street station after the game.
Extra Service for Bears-Colts Football Game at Noon SundayExtra #146 Marine/Michigan buses will supplement regular service to Soldier Field beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday, November 5, southbound on State from Kinzie for the noon football game between the Bears and the Indianapolis Colts.
#128 Soldier Field Express buses will serve Soldier Field directly from the Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station, and extra #12 Roosevelt buses will operate to Soldier Field from the accessible 'L'-subway stations east of State that are served by Red, Green and Orange Line trains.
