CTA PROVIDES EXTRA SERVICE FOR JAZZ FESTIVAL IN GRANT PARK AUGUST 29 - SEPTEMBER 1

The CTA will provide extra service for the 24th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival in Grant Park Thursday, August 29 through Sunday September 1. Evening performances will be held in the Petrillo Music Shell, at Jackson and Columbus Drives, and will end at about 9:30 p.m. nightly.

The Jazz Festival will be served by longer trains as needed on the Blue, Brown, and Green Lines, and with extra Customer Assistants at stations on the Blue, Green and Red Lines that are closest to Grant Park.

Customers can use the Jackson station on the Red Line at State and the Jackson station served by Blue Line trains in the Dearborn subway. Other nearby 'L' stations are at Library-State/Van Buren and Adams/Wabash for Brown, Green, and Orange Line trains which operate throughout the evening.

As performances come to a close each evening, extra buses will be available for customers on the #146 Marine/Michigan Express and #151 Sheridan routes. #6 Jeffery Express buses - which make stops southbound on State and eastbound on Congress at Michigan - will provide regular service south until late every evening. #126 Jackson buses - which stop northbound on Michigan at Jackson before turning west on Adams - operate until just after midnight on weeknights and until after 11 p.m. on weekends.
