The Chicago Transit Authority will provide convenient service to fans of the Chicago Bears when the newly renovated Soldier Field opens Monday, September 29 with the Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers. The Bears also are scheduled to host seven home games that all begin at noon on Sundays.

Three CTA bus routes serve the stadium and Museum Campus, and Red, Orange and Green Line trains stop a few blocks away at Roosevelt and State.

"We encourage Bears fans to let CTA tackle the driving this football season," said Richard Winston, CTA executive vice president, Transit Operations. ?Public Transportation is a convenient and economical option for getting to and from the game, especially as drivers face the hassles of unfamiliar traffic patterns and new parking restrictions."

Bus Service

#128 Soldier Field Express buses operate nonstop between the Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and Soldier Field on game days. Buses leave the train stations beginning two hours before the game until 30 minutes after kickoff. After the game, buses leave Soldier Field every few minutes until one hour after the game ends.

Customers using Ogilvie Transportation Center should board west on Madison near the corner of Clinton. Those using Union Station should board east on Jackson at the river. After the game, customers heading back to the stations will board buses at the Museum Campus Transit Center conveniently located just east of the Field Museum. The special fare for #128 buses is $1 and may be paid with bills or coins; the exact fare is required.

#146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses will operate to Soldier Field every few minutes beginning 2? hours before kickoff and for one hour after the games end between State/Lake and Soldier Field.

#12 Roosevelt buses operate between Roosevelt/Monitor and the Museum Campus.

Customers using the #128 or #146 buses will have the option of exiting buses on Columbus at 11th Street and taking the new pedestrian underpass to Soldier Field or staying on buses, which will travel south to 18th Street, east to Museum Campus Drive and north to the transit center.
