CTA PROVIDES ADDITIONAL SERVICE FOR BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN CONCERT WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13
The Chicago Transit Authority will provide additional service for fans attending Bruce Springsteen's concert at U.S. Cellular Field Wednesday evening. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Customers taking the Red Line to the concert have several convenient options. Red Line trains operate between Howard and 95th. Free connections to the Red Line can be made from Purple and Yellow Line trains at Howard, from all 'L' lines serving the Loop, or from Brown Line trains at Belmont or Fullerton. There will be additional Red Line service prior to the concert and after the concert ends as crowds warrant.
Yellow Line service connecting Skokie with Howard on the Red Line will be extended after the concert until 12:45 a.m.
Longer trains will operate on the Green Line beginning at 5 p.m. and as needed after the concert ends.
Besides the Red Line, U.S. Cellular Field also is served by fully accessible #35 35th buses, which stop at accessible stations on both the Green and the Orange Lines. Additional #35 buses will be in service beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Portable fareboxes will be available in the Sox-35th station allowing customers to pay their fares and board trains quicker for their trips home. Customers also can shorten their time standing in line and speed their trips by purchasing their return trip fare cards in advance.
