CTA #128 Soldier Field Express links to six Metra lines to provide fast, convenient and affordable travel options on football Game Days
Time to sack surge pricing, tackle traffic tie-ups and punt on parking problems, Bears fans! All season long, any suburban, city or visiting Bears fans can enjoy the affordable, reliable and stress-free way to get to the game, using the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) No. 128 Soldier Field Express bus.
CTA’s No.128 bus provides express service to Soldier Field that’s particularly convenient for fans coming downtown from the northern, western and southern suburbs. Our express bus links to six Metra lines and provides easy connections from Chicago’s Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center to Soldier Field. City and visiting fans also can skip parking and traffic jams by catching this express bus at either of these major transportation centers, offering a stress-free and faster commute between the stadium and near West Side.
For just $5.00, football fans boarding at either Union or Ogilvie stations can get an express, roundtrip to and from Soldier Field. A reduced fare of $2.50 is also available for seniors, the physically challenged and children ages 7 – 11. Please note that in order to speed your return trip after games, these fares are charged at the time of boarding at Ogilvie or Union stations only. No fare is collected at Soldier Field for your return trip to either rail station.
This express service is available 2.5 hours before game time, continuing for 30 minutes after kickoff. The No. 128 is available for approximately 60 minutes after the game ends, ready to take you back to Union and Ogilvie stations, where you can catch the following Metra lines:

BNSF Railway Union Pacific North
Milwaukee North Union Pacific Northwest
Milwaukee West Union Pacific West
Where to Board:
- At Ogilvie, board south on Clinton at Madison
- At Union Station, board east on Jackson at Canal
- At Soldier Field, board east on McFetridge
Fare information:
No 1-day, 3-day, 7-day or 30-day passes are accepted on the #128 route. However, you still can add money to pay-per-ride on your Ventra card via the free Ventra app, at rail station Ventra vending machines, online or at nearly 900 local retailers (for locations visit ventrachicago.com or the Ventra app). Customers can also pay their fares with their personal contactless debit or credit cards.
