CTA MAKES IT EASY TO REACH LAKEFRONT MUSEUMS DURING FREE ADMISSIONS WEEK JUNE 10 – 14

June 10, 2002
6/10/02

With all three downtown lakefront museums offering free general admissions the week of June 10 ?14, the CTA can provide visitors with economical and convenient service to all parts of the Museum Campus.

Participating in the free admissions program are the Field Museum of Natural History, the Adler Planetarium and the Shedd Aquarium. All three are along the lakefront near Roosevelt and Lake Shore Drive.

#146 Marine/Michigan Express buses serve the museums directly throughout the week, and may be boarded at stops southbound on Michigan from Delaware to Randolph, and on State from Washington to Van Buren.

#12 Roosevelt buses operate to the museums from stops on Roosevelt, including State, where customers can transfer from Red, Green and Orange Line 'L' trains that serve stations at Roosevelt.

On weekends and holidays from mid-May through Labor Day, #130 Grant Park Treasures buses serve the Museum Campus directly from the Ogilvie Transportation Center (North Western Station) and Union Station. Running every 15 minutes, starting at 9:35 a.m. on Saturdays and 10:35 a.m. on Sundays and holidays, #130 buses begin their trips in front of the Ogilvie Center on Madison just west of Canal, and stop for Union Station eastbound on Jackson at Canal. The last bus leaves the Adler Planetarium for trips to the stations at 6:05 p.m.
