CTA Issues Commemorative Farecard for Cubs/Sox Crosstown Series

May 30, 2008

The Chicago Transit Authority today announced that limited edition commemorative farecards to celebrate the 2008 Cubs/White Sox Crosstown Classic series are now available at select stations and will be at all CTA stations by June 2.

Chicago artist Steve Musgrave designed the farecard. Musgrave also designed commemorative posters that will be distributed at the CTA Red Line station hosting that weekend's contests. This year's series will take place at Wrigley Field June 20-22 and at U.S. Cellular Field the following weekend, June 27-29.

Since the program began in 1999, the commemorative posters and farecards have become a one-of-a-kind collectible item for fans. Musgrave also has several murals featuring Cubs legends on display at the Addison station, which he adopted as part of the CTA's Adopt-A-Station program in 1998.
