Grab a CTA 3-Day Pass and ride your way to the Taste of Chicago, baseball, concerts and fireworks; Weekend work on Green Line will require bus shuttles between Cottage Grove and Garfield
The CTA is the most affordable way to get to the Taste of Chicago and other events across the region. Save money by purchasing an unlimited rides pass, either the 1-Day ($5) – far more economical and convenient than the price of gas and parking - or the 3-Day ($15) pass – a real budget-saving move.
Weekend Work to Temporarily Impact Green Line Service
CTA crews will be working through the weekend on southbound track replacement between King Drive and Cottage Grove.
- Between 4:30 a.m. Sat. 7/11 and 4 a.m. Mon. 7/13, Green Line trains will operate between Harlem/Lake and Ashland/63rd only.
- Free shuttle buses will replace rail service between Garfield and Cottage Grove stations.
- This is the first of four anticipated weekend service changes needed to accommodate slow zone removal (dates for the remaining work have not been finalized).
- The Green Line work is just one of six slow zone removal projects in 2026, which will remove roughly six miles of slow zones across six lines.
